I’m excited to announce that two new D-Tech Me figurines – a Jedi Knight and a TIE-Fighter pilot – are premiering at Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this year.

First introduced in May 2012, Star Wars – D-Tech Me is a 10-minute experience that uses the world’s highest-resolution, single-shot 3D face scanner created by Imagineering scientists with Disney Research labs. The captured image is later sent to a high resolution 3D printer to create the figurine. This year, the experience will be located inside Darth’s Mall, near Streets of America across from Studio Catering Company.

In addition to the new figurines, we will again offer the Carbon-Freeze Me figurine, Alderaan Princess figurine, and male and female options for Stormtrooper and X-Wing pilot figurines.

For children, the Carbon-Freeze Me and Alderaan Princess figurines will be available in more youthful appearances.

The Star Wars – D-Tech Me 7-inch figurines are $119.95 each, plus shipping and applicable sales tax. For 15-inch figurines, retail is $999.95 each, plus shipping and applicable sales tax. All participants will receive a specially designed button.

Completed figurines will arrive within 6-8 weeks after the experience if shipping domestically (it takes a little longer if shipping internationally).

Guests can book their experience by calling 407-WDW-TECH (407-939-8324) starting March 26. We will only offer the experience during Star Wars Weekends 2015 (May 15 – 17, May 22-24, May 29-31, June 5-7, and June 12-14). Guests attending the Galactic Gathering event on May 14 will be some of the first individuals to experience Star Wars – D-Tech Me this year.

Please note: Separate theme park admission required for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. No discounts apply unless otherwise noted. Guests must be at least three (3) years of age to participate in the Star Wars D-Tech Me experience. Children must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years of age or older during the entire experience. A valid accepted credit card number is required at time of booking. No-shows or reservation cancellations within 48 hours of scheduled experience will result in such credit card being charged a $25 cancellation fee. The experience, due to its personalized nature, is non-refundable and not eligible for an exchange. Certain restrictions may apply. All prices, components and information are subject to change without notice.

  • Made my reservation! I can’t wait!

  • Jacob, After I saw you comment about beards/moustache and made my comment/question I started looking around the web and discovered a photo of the figure with a beard. I don’t recall where it was posted.

  • Is there a website to make a reservation for the other weekends?

  • Like Jacob from OK, I’m from OK, I have a beard and moustache for my Porkin costume, and my MNSSHP get-up. Will this be a problem?

  • I am super excited about this! I just reserved two time slots for myself and my husband on June 6th! It’s a surprise for him! 🙂

  • Should we shave our beard off for this? I wanted to have a beard for the Jedi statue.

  • These are awesome!!! Steve, Will these be available at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim April 16-19?

  • No Clonetroopers? 🙁

  • is there going to be a premium package this year?

  • @steven @tim , thx for the info i will use the notes function 🙂

  • We booked yesterday and there were a fairly large number of timeslots available. They took our card info to hold the reservation times, but did not charge it; they advised us that there will also be a postage charge of about $25 per copy.

  • It’s too bad this won’t be offered during Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in April 2015. I think this is a missed opportunity by both Reed Pop and Disney with the large number of Star Wars fans who will be there.

  • Do you pay for this at the time of booking? Or do you pay when you go to your reservation?

  • @Youri – There is a notes function where you can manually enter your reservation for that day. That is what I did.

  • Is it possible to make a booking online? I’ll be visiting the first Star Wars Weekend from Australia, and it would cost a lot to try and make a phone booking internationally

    • @Darren – That’s awesome! I hope you have a safe trip. Due to the popularity of this product and limited time offering, reservations are strongly suggested. You could, however, check with the location same day for any availability. The team at Darth’s Mall will try their best to accommodate you. Please note that separate theme park admission is required to enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

  • just made my reservation yesterday 😀 , how can i link it to the mydisneyexperience?

    • @Youri – That’s great! Unfortunately, there is not a way to link the reservation for the Star Wars – D-Tech Me experience to your My Disney Experience account.

  • Will there still be a chance to get the Han Solo kryptonite figure as in years past? Thanks!

    • @Victoria – We will offer the Carbon-Freeze Me experience again this year.

  • hello-
Is a appointment needed if I want to do this, at the galactic gathering?

    • @Chris – If you have registered for the Galactic Gathering event, you should contact Walt Disney Event Services (not the Disney Reservation Center) to make an appointment for the May 14 event.

  • @ Eli:

They don’t make the figures on site, they just scan your head for the computer program that makes them. As the post mentions, you don’t get your figure for 6-8 weeks (though my experience may have been much less time last year, what is quoted is what they are comfortable specifying).

  • James wife here – Sounds incredible! Bring on Boba Fett!
What a great commemorative gift these make.
Unfortunately we miss this by 3 days on our upcoming trip in May.

  • Will guests be able to watch the 3d printers running (not necessarily their figure, but just watch the printers at work)?

    • @Eli – Unfortunately, the figurines are made at an off-site facility so no 3-D printers will be found at Darth’s Mall.

  • Where will Darth’s Mall going to be located at this year? I can’t wait for Star Wars Day and Star Wars Weekends.

    • @Timothy – Darth’s Mall will be located near Streets of America across from Studio Catering Company.

  • @yulady:

If it’s lines to get into Darth’s Mall you are concerned about, it’s probably not an issue.

Assuming it’s like previous years, the cast member at the front door will escort you if you have a D-Tech Me appointment. You won’t have to worry about standing in the (potentially, depending on your reservation time) long line to get into Darth’s Mall.

  • I am still waiting for them to have a “Porkins” shaped X-Wing Pilot before I get one.

    • @Gian – Nice! 🙂

  • The Jedi one looks amazing!!
Quick question, is the actual D Tech area going to be then at the gift shop that’s in between Studio Catering and the Monsters Inc meet and greet? So you don’t have to go inside the old AFI gift shop to get to your D Tech reservation?

    • @Yulady – The Star Wars – D-Tech Me experience will be located in Darth’s Mall. A Cast Member at the entrance can assist you with getting to the experience for your reservation time.

  • Will the ability to use a photo from past D-Tech me figurines be available again this year on the new figures?

    • @William – That option will not be offered this year.
