I’m delighted to share that several unique Disney Parks-inspired shirts will be coming to the Disney Parks online store in March 2015.

Disney Design Group artist Richard Terpstra designed the two shirts that will be released from March 9-15, 2015. For the “Date Night at Disneyland Resort” shirt, Richard was inspired by vintage advertising from Disneyland park. This design will be offered for both women and men. I’m thinking this would be a perfect T-shirt for my fiancée and me to wear during one of our many dates to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel.

Richard’s other vintage shirt design, The Dapper Dans at Main Street, U.S.A., will be offered for men, women and youth.

From March 30 to April 5, we will release two shirts that were inspired by classic Disney attractions from Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.

The Adventure Thru Inner Space was designed by artist Ian Giles. This Tomorrowland attraction was found at Disneyland park from August 5, 1967 to September 2, 1985. It’s the one Disney attraction I wish I could have experienced as it looked amazing (as seen in this article).

Richard designed the If You Had Wings shirt that combines visual elements from the attraction that operated in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park in Florida from June 5, 1972 until June 1, 1987. When attraction sponsors changed, it was replaced by If You Could Fly, which was open from June 6, 1987 to January 3, 1989. It’s the one attraction I vividly remember from my first visit to Walt Disney World in 1983. I still can’t believe I will soon own this shirt!

These limited release shirts will be found at http://www.DisneyStore.com/ParkEvents during their respective release dates. Please allow 3-5 weeks for delivery (express shipping is not available).

Comments

  • Will there be a re-release of these shirts? I missed the limited availability timeframe and these would be perfect for Engagement Photos for me and my fiancée.

  • Steve, will the Date Nite at Disneyland shirts still be offered in the parks after March 15th?

    • @Nyia – These shirts will only be offered online at this time. There are no plans to carry the Date Nite at Disneyland Resort in merchandise locations at Disney Parks. You can purchase the shirt now through March 15 at http://www.DisneyStore.com/ParkEvents

  • will the shirts still be offered in the parks after March 15th?

  • I kept thinking that the If You Had Wings T-shirt looked familiar out of my 70’s childhood for some reason, before the caption said what it was… 🙂
Although I always thought the old El Rio de Tiempo ride at Epcot was the perfect “substitute” for IYHW, before it became the Gran Fiesta Tour.

  • Going to need to score me and the wife the Date Nite shirts… It would be pretty sweet walking down Main Street on Date Night. I’d better get on it pretty quick so I don’t miss out.

  • When are the selling the Harmony Barbershop Tshirts?

    • @Misty – At this time, I don’t have a confirmed release date. Sorry.

  • LOVE Richard Terpstra’s work! His designs are amazing!

    • @Maureen – Yes!! I’m glad he is part of our Disney Design Group team. A talented designer and just a great guy overall who loves Disney as much as I do. 🙂

  • Steven,

When Eastern Airlines stopped sponsoring the attractions, If You Had Wings temporarily became If You Could Fly while another sponsor was secured and an attraction update was designed. It then closed for refurbishment and reopened in 1989 as Delta Dreamflight. It lasted under that moniker until Delta withdrew its sponsorship at the end of 1996, at which point it remained open for a while as Take Flight. Finally, it closed on June 5, 1998 and was completely redesigned. On October 7, 1998, it reopened as Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. Interestingly, the track has not changed since the days of If You Had Wings, so riders are actually sitting on the same track as they did back in 1972!

    • @Mark – Thank you for sharing. 🙂

  • Since you have a calendar on the shirts, I would LOVE it if you could post release calendars on other Park Authentic merchandise they plan to release on the Mondays of each month.

    • @Charles – Unfortunately, I won’t be able to provide a calendar as all release dates for items are subject to change without notice.

I can say that new items are typically added on Mondays. You can see those products on the Disney Parks New Additions page: http://www.disneystore.com/disney-parks-product/mn/1001081+1000995/

  • Steven, this makes me so happy! 😀 If You Had Wings was one of my favorite attractions in Tomorrowland. I still love the song from it. And those Date Nite tees? Yes please! I hope to see a lot more vintage Disneyland merchandise for #Disneyland60.

  • What about those of us who’s “Date Nights” happen at Walt Disney World. Any plans for a WDW version of those super cute shirts?

  • these are awesome Steven!

    Are they beefy T’s?
