To paraphrase a certain scruffy looking nerf herder, I’ve flown from one side of the galaxy to the other, and I’ve seen a lot of cool stuff … but nothing as cool as Star Wars Weekends. This year’s event is shaping up to be among the best, with a new show, new locations for merchandise and autograph opportunities and a galaxy of stars that includes returning favorites and luminaries making their first hyperspace jump to Star Wars Weekends!

So shall we dispense with the pleasantries?

Of course, Star Wars Weekends host James Arnold Taylor (Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels) will be appearing every week, and in addition to Ashley Eckstein’s Weekend IV guest spot, she will also be joining us every day of the event as host of “Padawan Mind Challenge – Family Edition.”

Details are still coming together for the event, but some of the highlights of what’s new for Star Wars Weekends 2015 include:

  • Star Wars: Rebels” – Relive the adventurous twists and turns of the first exciting season of the Disney XD series “Star Wars: Rebels,” in an all-new show with Star Wars Weekends host James Arnold Taylor and a special guest from the show’s voice cast … along with a few surprises!
  • Autograph Opportunities – For the first time, autograph sessions with Star Wars celebrities will be held in an indoor location, just off Commissary Lane near Star Tours – The Adventure Continues. For complete details about autograph opportunities, be sure to visit prior to your visit.
  • Darth’s Mall – Can’t find the droids you’re looking for? Head over to this new complex of shops near Streets of America for the best selection of Star Wars merchandise in this galaxy or any other!

All this, plus dozens of Star Wars characters appearing throughout the park, yummy Star Wars-inspired treats and the spectacular fireworks finale, “Symphony in the Stars.” It just goes to show you that Star Wars Weekends is as close to the Force as you can get!

Believe it or not, we still have more to share with you in the weeks ahead, so keep checking Disney Parks Blog and for updates, and keep the conversation going on social media using #SWW2015!

  • Please bring back the HyperspaceHoopla! It was one of the biggest highlights of #SWW for our family. Can’t believe you’re not doing it any more.

  • When will the show times for weekend V be announced? It’s very difficult planning FPs and dining reservations without knowing the entertainment schedule.

  • I have the same question. We will be there on June 13th and I’m trying to book my FP for a SWW show and none are showing up on the FP+ booking page. Are they all gone or has it not opened up?

  • I am also looking at booking FP+ for the final SWW and there is no Star Wars events are listed. When will they be available??

  • I was able to schedule FastPasses for other events on June 14th at HS, but no Star Wars events are listed under FastFass+. Will Conversations with Frank Oz have a FastPass? When will Starts of the Saga FastPasses be available for Weekend V?

Also is Frozen Sing Along and Beauty and Beast also closed that weekend?

  • Hello, we have a huge Star Wars fan and a huge Muppets fan who loves Frank Oz. We will be there for Weekend 5, but while we can make online plans for shows, they are not showing as available for Weekend 5. My FP window opens at midnight tonight, When will Weekend 5 schedule be set for me to choose FP times??

  • Just called about FTF package and was told it is sold out for Sunday May 17th. Just wondering if any space will be added once the official announcement is made. How can it be sold out already!?!?

  • Re: John – fastpasses are still available. I changed shows today and all were available each day of my weekend.

  • Mr. Shawn, Any word on when the official FtF package information will be announced? Theres some conflicting information being given out by dining .

    Thank you

  • What time is Symphony in the Stars?

  • So now there are no FastPasses to these events for Annual Passholders and we haven’t even gotten to the 30 day window yet?

  • Tracey I am in the same boat as you. While I haven’t been a passholder as long as you, I still find it incredibly annoying that I cannot book a show until 30 days out. Oh and by the way all available fastpasses are now booked. I called yesterday and got that confirmation from a CM over the phone.

  • Hi Will all SWW shows be in the Theater of the Stars or only the Stars of the Saga? Thanks

    • Rhonwyn – Padawan Mind Challenge, Galactic Dance Party and Summon the Force will be presented on the Event Stage at the center of the park. All other shows will be in Theater of the Stars on Sunset Blvd.

  • I’m an annual passholder have been for 14 years and I can’t book a single Fastpass for any of this. Are you telling me, I can only book as each day as it progresses 30 days ahead of time? And if they’re sold out before the day even gets here….then what am I supposed to do?

  • Looking forward to Star Wars weekend but a little disappointed that Billy Dee Williams is not listed this year. I just missed seeing him the past two years. Hopefully he will return next year

  • Will there be any word coming out ahead of time about any small acknowledgments for May the 4th? Or will we find out that day? Either way, we are planning on Disney’s Hollywood Studios that day! But in particular I’m looking for information, if we can go in costume that day, we have the Galactic breakfast booked? Of course, we are definitely looking forward to all 5 weekends of Star Wars Weekends!! It’s my husband’s and son’s favorite time of the year.

  • Looks like you can only see the FPP selections for Star Wars Weekends if you chose to change one of your existing Tier 1 (or whatever its called) selections.

  • John- Obi Wan and Beyond is a different show. It is an amazing performance by James Arnold Taylor showing off his skill in voice acting. We almost skipped it last year since we didn’t watch Clone Wars but decided to see if since he was such a good host. It was phenomenal! I highly recommend it. (I am sad that JAT isn’t signing this year. I really wanted an autograph after seeing this show.)

  • What are all the FP+ opportunities? When playing around with “Change Experience”, I found:

    * Obi Wan and Beyond — That isn’t the same as Stars of the Saga is it?
    * Star Wars: Rebels

    • John – “Stars of the Saga” is the celebrity talk show hosted by James Arnold Taylor, but featuring our visiting celebrities from the Star Wars saga. “Obi-Wan and Beyond” is James Arnold Taylor’s solo show, in which he explores his fascinating career as a voice actor.

As for Fastpass+, it should be available for each of the following shows: “Stars of the Saga,” “Star Wars: Rebels,” “Obi-Wan and Beyond,” “An Ewok’s Tale: My Short Story” and “A Visit to the Maul.” Please note: Those last two are only offered on weekends when Warwick Davis or Ray Park are visiting.

  • Will they be having a May the FOURTH Be With You Celebration this year?

    • Mark – While there is often some small acknowledgment of the unofficial Star Wars Day in some of the Disney Parks, we save the biggest bang for Star Wars Weekends!

  • Have ALL the celebs been announced? Any chance anyone else will be booked for any of the weekends?

    • Mark – Yes, they have. We actually waited until all our celebrity guests were confirmed before announcing, so everyone could make their plans with all the information available.

  • Hi Shawn!
1.) Do you know if kids will be automatically given a place in the Jedi Training Academy if they have a VIP Ultimate Day Tour ticket? The wording is not clear to me. It says, “Post-tour access to the Jedi Training Academy for your Padawans” – but what does this include?
2.) Do you know what restaurant the Table-Service meal included will be at?
3.) Is there some kind of itinerary the tour follows, and you must stay with the group of 20 other people or can you make your own choices?
    Thanks in advance!!

    • Suzanna – Unfortunately, I don’t have any more information about that tour. I recommend calling (407) WDW-TOUR or (407) 939-8687 to ask your questions.

  • Awesome! Thanks for the info, Shawn! 😀

  • Where can we make the FP reservations? I don’t see it under the regular FP area?

    • Lawrence – Fastpass+ can be arranged through My Disney Experience, but only in the booking window, which will vary based on a number of factors.

  • So excited!! Just booked my FP!!

  • Thanks We at the DIS appreciate your reply’s 🙂

Any chance there will be something similar to Feel the Force? With the parade and fireworks or any combination there of, since there wont be a FP+ for the parade?

    • Kevin – Happy to help! Stay tuned for more information about packages.

  • THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So excited for the updates (surprising the kids with a trip to SWW!) Is the parade time available yet? Trying to get our plans for our days figured out. Thanks!

  • What time is the parade????????

    • Kevin, Rebeka and Matthew – The “Legends of the Force” motorcade will be presented at 11 a.m. on Hollywood Blvd.

  • What time will the motorcade be?

  • Mr. Sean will the parade be at 11Am this year instead of 1130 as years past? I hope you can answer this either way

  • Will celebrity autograph opportunities still be paper passes given out the morning of, or will they be FP+ ?

    • Robert – The FASTPASS tickets for autographs will be handled much as they have in the past. Complete details are available at

  • Awesome, thanks for posting! looking forward to the first weekend!

  • Hey Shawn! Who is going to be part of each SWW event? Will Ian McDiarmid be part of the Stars of the Saga Celebrity Talk Show” on his weekend?

    • Susan – All our celebrity guests take part in the “Legends of the Force” motorcade each weekend. Voice talent from “Star Wars Rebels” will appear in the new show dedicated to the animated series. The other actors take part in “Stars of the Saga” on their respective weekends, with the exception of Frank Oz, who will be featured in a special “Conversation With” presentation. You can also catch the specialty shows starring Ray Park, Warwick Davis and James Arnold Taylor.

  • Thank god……theres only 40 days until all this starts its about time we got some info!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Daniel Logan also voiced Boba Fett in The Clone Wars

    • Ziro – Good catch! We’ll get that corrected. Thanks.

  • That’s a bummer that Ian McDiarmid and Frank Oz are not doing autographs. Other than Amy Allen I have all the other guests already.

  • Thanks so much for the reply, Shawn! I saw FastPass+ for the shows just opened – do you know if parade viewing will be an option for FastPass? Or if the premium package will again offer reserved viewing?

    • Tara – Fastpass+ will not be available for motorcade viewing. As for premium packages, stay tuned for more info soon.

  • I see people are booking fp already I’m an AP, have been for 15 years, I can’t book mine because I only get a 30 day window

  • Crossing my fingers that the more to share will be something about May the Fourth. Or even better the Fab 3 coming (Harrison Carrie and Mark)

  • Will Frank or Ian be signing those weekends? Please say yes!

    • Cory and Adam – Most of the visiting celebrities will be signing autographs; however, Frank Oz, Ian McDiarmid and James Arnold Taylor will not be available for those opportunities.

  • Are all scheduled guested anticipated to do autograph signings?

  • We are so excited for Star Wars Weekends this year! Especially with the new Star Wars Rebels cartoon on Disney Channel, my 4 year old is ALL about Star Wars now! Can’t Wait!

    • Aunesty – We have someone from “Star Wars Rebels” every weekend, so he’ll definitely get the chance to see one of the stars behind the characters on the show!

  • When will the FPs be released for the various panels? I just tried, but still not allowed.

    • Jamie and Anna – Fastpass+ opportunities should be available within the hour for those dates within the booking window.

  • Will there be FP+ opportunities for the Rebel show and autographs? We haven’t done them in the past but my girls are interested in getting them now. If so, when will the website have them listed?

  • So Frank Oz and Ian McDiarmid will be available to sign autographs? Nor like Mark Hamill last year?

    • Jesse and Yulady – Neither Frank Oz nor Ian McDiarmid will be participating in autograph opportunities, but you’ll be able to see them in the “Legends of the Force” motorcade and hear from them during celebrity talk shows during their respective weekends.

  • Will Frank Oz be signing autographs?

  • So like say yes or say no but please stop toying with us. Will there be any type of “special” package offered beyond the VIP package? You would make SO MANY people happy with just that one little answer 🙂

    • Lisa – Okay… Yes! 😉

  • Will there be a package like Feel the Force premium package offered this year? Thank you!

    • Tara and Kelly – Look for information about premium package opportunities soon.

  • Will a dessert party be offered this year?
