Update: 4/16/2015: The Blue Hawaiian recipe has been updated with a few minor changes

Our “Tastes of Aulani” series returns to The ‘Olelo Room at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, to feature another signature Hawaiian cocktail. If you have mastered the Traditional Mai Tai and Mahi Mahi Tacos, now it’s time to test your skills with another classic: the Blue Hawaiian! Our bartenders at Aulani prepare this beverage at The ‘Olelo Room, Off the Hook and Wailana Pool Bar. However, if you’re at home, let cast member Keola show you how to make this beverage below. What other delicious eats and drinks from Aulani would you like to try at home? Tell us in the comments below!

Blue Hawaiian

  • 2 ounces Pineapple Juice

Comments

  • The original as created by Harry Yee at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in 1957 had vodka but Disney has never added vodka to their Blue Hawaiians. Here’s the version from the Tambu Lounge as an example:

    Tambu Lounge – Polynesian Resort

    1/2 oz. Light Rum
    1 oz. Blue Curacao
    4 oz. Pineapple juice
    2 oz. Sour mix
    Garnish: Pineapple flag

    Serve in a Tiki mug

  • Stacey try this one if you’re looking for another recipe:

    1 oz pineapple juice
    .5 oz lemon juice
    .5 simple syrup
    .25 oz blue curacao
    .75 oz vodka
    .75 light rum

  • The recipe doesn’t say vodka. It isn’t very blue.

    • My apologies, Stacey! Our Food and Beverages team made a few adjustments to the recipe and I have updated it in the text above!
