Being a long-time fan of Star Wars, I love visiting Disney Parks on May 4. This annual, fan-proclaimed “Star Wars Day” is a great day to ride Star Tours – The Adventures Continue with other fans who grew up in the Star Wars universe like I did. Here is a quick look at some commemorative items we’ve created to celebrate this day-long celebration at Disney Parks on May 4.

This year, fans will find two T-shirts – one with Jedi Mickey for “May the 4th” and one with Goofy dressed as Darth Vader for “Revenge of the 5th.” The same artwork was used on two limited edition pins. A matching water bottle will be released in Florida only.

A new 9-inch plush of an Ewok named Teebo will be released in both California and Florida that day.

Guests in Florida will find two open edition MagicBands at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with stylized images of Luke Skywalker and a Stormtrooper. Each will have a retail of $22.99; they both can be “linked later” making them great gifts.

I’m also excited to share that we will release the Second Edition Star Wars headphones by SMS Audio, the official headphones of Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. This second series depicts fan favorite themes such as Tie Fighter, Chewbacca, R2-D2 and Darth Vader. These headphones will only be found at Tatooine Traders in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Finally, we will release an “I Am Your Father’s Day” shirt on the Disney Parks online store from May 4-10 at Please allow 3-5 weeks for delivery.

At Disneyland Resort, guests should look for the T-shirts, pins and plush at Little Green Men Store Command in Disneyland park and at Disney’s Pin Traders in Downtown Disney District. The T-shirts and plush will also be offered at D-Street.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort, guests should visit the following locations to find select items: Tatooine Traders, Mickey’s of Hollywood, Beverly Sunset and Studio Prop Shop.

May the 4th Be With You!

  • Any idea if the passholder t-shirts are sold out yet?

  • Steven, will you post some more pics of Star Wars merchandise? We’d love to see this year’s tee shirts (and Annual Passholder tee shirts). Any photos of Darth’s Maul you can post as well? Thanks.

  • *salivating over the Star Wars MagicBands*
*I hope that doesn’t short them out* 🙂

  • Do you know when the new Wicket will be released at WDW?

    • @Krystal – I do not have a confirmed release date at this time. The plush team said he was coming this year.

  • are we getting a sneak peek at the SWW regular merchandise (not covered in the Galactic Gathering catalog) before SWW?. Thanks

    • @Yulady – I have another story but I’m unsure when it will run.

  • How much are the headphones? Headed down soon so we want to plan ahead 🙂

    • @Kelly – They retail for $199.98 each (plus tax). Please note that all retails are subject to change without notice.

  • On a different merchandise note, is there any update on the Gus & Jaq Piece of Spectromagic History pin? It was supposed to be released on March 19th, but the Cinderella Spectromagic pin was released instead that day.

    • @Robert – It appears that pin will now be released in July.

  • James’ wife here – Sweeet! Hitting Downtown Disney tomorrow and the Blvd at HS in three days hope they’re not all sold out! CANNOT WAIT!!

  • Hi Steven. Will the Wicket & Chirpa plush be available for Star Wars Weekends, or are those CA only?

    • @Jaime – An updated Wicket plush will be coming to both coasts. Currently, Chief Chirpa is only available at Disneyland Resort.

  • Do you know if there are any special events happening today, in particular maybe a special Symphony in the Stars fireworks show?

    • @Michael – There are no plans for that show. Disney’s Hollywood Studios will have extra magic hours tonight from 10:00 p.m. to Midnight.

  • Is the Ewok plush limited edition or will they be around for Star Wars Weekends? I would like to try and get the set!

    • @Katherine – The plush is not limited edition. Availability will depend upon how popular the item is with guests today. I can’t guarantee that quantities will be remaining for Star Wars Weekends.

  • Steven – Will the MagicBands only be sold on May 4th and May 5th, or will they still be for sale after that if there is remaining stock?

    • @Ethan – The MagicBands are open edition and will be released on May 4. If any items are remaining after today, they will continue to be carried in select locations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

  • I say it every year, but: Keep your jokes–For those of us in the Original Generation, Star Wars Day was May 25, 1977. I celebrate my day three weeks later.

  • Awesome products. Do you know what the edition size of the magic bands is? Will they still be available during Star Wars Weekends?

    • @Yulady – The MagicBands are actually open edition which means they can be reordered in the future. It’s difficult to say if they will still be available for Star Wars Weekends as it will depend upon their popularity with guests.

  • Steven, are both magic bands out today?

    • @Andrew – The MagicBands were released today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
