Tomorrow begins a celebration 60 years in the making … the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration. Featuring a glittering parade, street-to-sky fireworks and an all-new “World of Color,” it will be a celebration of the innovation and wonder for which the Disneyland Resort and Disney Parks around the world have become known.

“It’s amazing to contemplate all that Disneyland has come to mean to so many people around the world,” said Tom Staggs, COO of the Walt Disney Company. “For 60 years, millions of guests have come here to celebrate their special occasions, and now we’re excited to invite everyone to share the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration with us. And, of course, none of this would be possible without our exceptional cast members who bring the magic to life.”

At Disneyland park, the new “Paint the Night” parade will bring some of the most innovative floats, vibrant costumes and dazzling special effects ever presented at the Disneyland Resort. This new, state-of-the-art nighttime parade floods Main Street, U.S.A., with stunning color and more than 1.5 million LED lights.

Also at Disneyland park, the new “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular will be a sky-high celebration featuring sparkling pyrotechnics, immersive projections and effects that transform the park right before your eyes. “Disneyland Forever” envelops you in an enthralling, breathtaking journey like never before, leveraging the largest installation of projection mapping technology in a Disney park and surprising special effects.

Disney California Adventure park will present a special edition of the popular “World of Color” show, hosted by award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris. In “World of Color – Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney,” Mickey Mouse and Neil take guests on a journey through the imagination of Walt Disney, exploring his decades-long legacy of memorable animated moments and the dream of Disneyland.

The Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration will also bring dazzling decor and special surprises throughout both parks, the Downtown Disney District and the Disneyland Resort hotels. Make plans now to join us for this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

  • Taking the whole family the first week of Dec 1-4 thats a mon-thurs. It just occured to me that the new 60th celebration parade and fireworks may not be shown due to the holiday parades and fireworks. My heart is sinking just thinking about the possibility of missing the new shows they look SO amazing!!!!! 🙁 Does anyone know if they will still show the new stuff even with it being “holiday” season?

  • Is there a set date for the end of the diamond celebration yet?

  • We just got back from spending 3 days at the 60th celebration. We DEFINITELY enjoyed it. If you go, make sure you see the evening shows (parade, fireworks, water show) at least once, wish we had enough time to see the fireworks again, but it was fine. Very crowded, so be prepared, grab fast passes whenever you can, and spend a couple of days so you can deal with the crowds and get to the shows and rides that you want. Have fun.

  • Hi Erin

My Partner and I are coming over from New Zealand and taking our two friends to Disneyland for the first time. Whats the chances that the diamond celebration will still be going to the end of October. Would love experience such a special moment. Although its magical 24/7 🙂

  • Hello Ms Erin, I am wondering are they gonna keep the parade and fireworks through the holiday season. Will arrive in November for Avengers Half Marathon and just hoping they don’t change over to their holiday decorations and nighttime shows yet.

  • Aloha! Has an end date been determined? I will be at Disneyland in August and would love it if we’re still able to experience all the Diamond celebration festivities!

  • Andrew and Richard, I follow college program cast member on twitter and instagram, and she said that it’s going to last 18 months. 🙂

We’ll be there in December…and I am sooooooooo looking forward to it!

  • This all looks like great fun Erin. We’ll be there in early June (sister getting married), can’t wait to take it all in.

@Richard, if the 50th Anniversary is an indication, the Diamond should last at least a year. So you should still make it in February.

  • How long will the 60th anniversary celebration last? We normally visit Disneyland in February. Will we be too late if we wait till then?

    • Richard – An end date has not yet been announced.

  • So excited to see it all in person when we come out from the East Coast this fall!! Has it been determined yet what nights the Disneyland Forever show will run? Just on weekends like the regular fireworks? We’re hoping to catch it more than once during our visit.

    • Valerie – I’d recommend checking the Entertainment schedule on Disneyland.com.

  • This all looks completely amazing. I’m going to Disneyland California for my first time next March and just hope all of this is still there when I go so then I can go on a massive Disney Spending Spree as well.
