The Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration kicks off this week with a 24-hour event on May 22-23 at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks! Some of you may be planning to arrive early in the hopes of being among the first to celebrate with us. If so, Iā€™ve got some important information to share with you.

  • Pumbaa lot will open for early arrivals at 10 p.m. the evening of May 21.
  • Mickey & Friends Parking Structure will open at 4 a.m. and Toy Story Lot will open at 5 a.m. on May 22.

  • At 2 a.m., all guests in line will be moved through Security checkpoints to the Disneyland Resort Esplanade, where they will receive a commemorative keepsake while supplies last.
  • No smoking, fighting or loud music will be allowed in line.
  • All guests in line will be able to temporarily leave the line to use the restroom, purchase food or beverages, and return or retrieve items from their vehicles/hotel rooms.

  • At 4 a.m., guests who choose to begin their day at Disneyland park will be escorted onto Main Street, U.S.A., to prepare for the opening celebration moment, which will take place at approximately 6 a.m. inside Disneyland park.
  • Guests who choose to begin their day at Disney California Adventure park will be escorted onto Buena Vista Street at 5:30 a.m.

  • Disneyland Resort ticket booths will open at 2 a.m. on May 22.
  • SoCal and SoCal Select Annual Passports will not be valid for admission on May 22.
  • Premium, Deluxe and Premier Annual Passports will be valid for admission during the entire 24-hour period.

  • Hello! Do you know if Disneyland will be having a 24 hour party in 2016?

  • Erin. My family attended the millennial celebration and are looking forward to attended the diamond anniversary. During the Millennial celebration Disneyland had lanyard sites throughout the day where you could get special event lanyards. Do you know if Disneyland is doing the lanyard giveaways for Fridays event and if so have they posted the times and places that the lanyards will be given away?

  • Hi Erin, I am handicapped and after I make the trek from Pumbaa to the 2AM line will I be able to rent an ECV?

  • I plan to come for a regular visit to the park – not for the full 24 hours. If I arrive after 8:00 AM on Friday, is it likely that I will be turned away? Will the park be full by then? I live 1 1/2 hours away and would not be happy to drive that far and not be able to go to the parks. Thanks.

  • You’ll most likely be able to get in, keep in mind with over a million AP’s they can’t give you a 100% guarantee since the park can reach capacity if all of us decide to actually go super early.

Also I just wanted to say again that Erin you’re super awesome, thank you again for all the work you do for us Disney fans šŸ˜€

  • Will guests arriving after 4am walkthrough still be able to get in?
Do you have to be in line by 2am for guaranteed entry?

  • Hi Erin – a few questions. I know 10pm tonight is the earliest to park your car but is that also the very earliest time to start lining up? I’m taking the bus to the park and was hoping to bring a sleeping bag, but I won’t have a car to bring it back to at 2am, can I bring and store it in a Main Street locker at 4am or will security not let me take it through? Also, will I able to get a fastpass for both the 10:15 and 3am World of Color shows, or is there a limit? Thank you!

  • Hi,
I was wondering if there will be fast passes given out during this event?
    Thank You

  • Hi Erin, I have two questions.
1.) The blog post mentions a “2am” as when you can start lining up to enter is that 2am on 5/22?

2.) Just to clarify, SO I can NOT bring in the park: (1-2 blanket(s), 2 pillows, and a MAYBE a sleeping pad) when I enter the security line at 2 a.m. (I’m going by myself!)

    Thanks, Jack

  • Hey Erin!

What time do the ticket booths open on the 22nd?

  • Hi, I was wondering about RV/trailer parking. Will we be allowed to drive in with our RV? If so, where would we need to park for the event? Thank you šŸ™‚

  • If we want to line up on the downtown Disney side But have to park in pumba. How do we get over there

  • Im wanting to see the opening ceremony at 6am, but also want 3am WoC fast passes. Will I be able to leave DL and enter DCA after the opening ceremony?

  • What is the procedure on Saturday at 6:00 am? Will the park get closed and everybody leaves, or can we stay longer inside?

    • Both parks close, and all guests must exit, at 6 a.m. Saturday.

  • How do I make sure to get the fast pass for the 3 A.M World of Color?

    • Maranda – Go to the distribution area as soon as you arrive and inquire with the cast member there.

  • you said we can line up on the downtown disneyside or the bus let off side at 10 pm correct? do each sides recieve a commemorative item if they get there early enough?

    • Whichever side you approach from, you will be directed to the line. Commemorative keepsakes will be distributed as long as supplies last.

  • If I start in Pumba parking lot, will I be allowed to move to the Mickey and Friends after the 4 o’clock opening?? Also, will we be directed where to line up if we do get there early (10:00PM)?? We are flying in from out of state for this and don’t want to miss out.

  • Will the guest entrance to California Adventure from Grand Californian be open at 530am for the 24 hour day?

  • How will the getting fast passes for World of Color work? I will be trying to watch the 3:00AM showing with my group. Will I have to wait until all the previous showings are out of fast passes before I can get the 3:00AM fast passes?

    • Catherine – There will be a dedicated machine at the distribution area for this show. Just ask a cast member to point you in the right direction when you get there.

  • Hi, I am going there with my husband and toddler and are very excited for the Diamond Celebration…I heard Friday they might not let people once the park reaches maximum capacity…how likely is that for someone wanting to go in Friday at 9AM and going back to the hotel at 1PM for a toddler nap, it’s our family vacation and we hope to be in Disneyland on Friday.

  • Where will we line up if we are there at 10 pm Thursday?

  • Will theme park and parking entry close for Poole who have yet to arrive at a certain time? I’m going to be arriving with my sister and her boyfriend around 5:00 pm. I dot. Want to get there and them tell me I can’t go into the park on my birthday, I’m an AP deluxe if that helps.

  • If you have a breakfast reservation at 6am, will there be a separate line to get through?

  • Paul ā€” The entertainment schedule link is correct but keep in mind these after midnight shows actually occur on the next calendar day. So just change to the next day, May 23, and you’ll see both the 1:00 AM Paint the Night and 3:00 AM World of Color showings. Both are clearly marked as part of the 24 Hour Event.

  • We plan on arriving Thursday at 5PM to catch a cup of Tea. I planned on parking at Mickey & Friends, but staying for the 24hr event. Do you know if I will have to move my car at 10PM to Pumba or will they presume if you are still there, you are camping out for the 24 hr event?

    • You should plan to park in the Pumbaa lot at 10 p.m.

  • Hi Erin! I just had a quick question for you.

If we’re allowed to line up after 10pm on the night of the 21st, and won’t be moved through security until 2am, would we just be lining up through Downtown Disney? Will the Downtown Disney parking lot be open at all?
