On Memorial Day, Disneyland park guests lined Main Street, U.S.A. during the daily flag retreat ceremony to pay respect to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Dozens of veterans, reservists and active duty members of the armed forces came to participate in the ceremony.

During his official dedication of Disneyland park, Walt Disney said Disneyland is dedicated to “the hard facts that have created America” – a sentiment evidenced by this photo.

  • Disneyland not only honors the US Military on holidays, but every day at it’s daily Flag Retreat ceremony. Guests are encouraged to participate and each branch of the service is honored. It’s a wonderful tribute to all the men and women who have, and do serve our great country.

  • That was a good day! I was blessed to be able to stand at the flag pole honoring our Nation’s military who have made the ultimate sacrifice. It’s still good to know that Disney honors special occasions like Memorial Day the way they do. When the band played “God Bless America” you could hear the sounds and hearts of those who gathered at the pole and all the way down main street… Thanks Disney for making that a special day…

  • Thank you for showing this! I am so thankful for those who have given their lives so that we may be free.
