The all-new “Paint the Night” parade and “Disneyland Forever” fireworks open for Disneyland park guests tonight, and last night they premiered in special performances for invited fans and media. Both all-new for the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, they bring never-before-seen immersive technologies that light up the night and surround guests with stunning color and surprising special effects.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney Company Bob Iger kicked off the premiere performances last night with a special welcome on Main Street, U.S.A.

“Few companies have both a legendary past as well as a limitless future,” Iger said. “But we had the great fortune to be founded with a spirit of creativity and innovation – one that continues to define this phenomenal company, allowing us to keep moving forward to meet the future without ever losing sight of who we are and where it all started. It’s a true honor to usher in the celebration of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Anniversary as we celebrate the triumph of imagination in a place where dreams really do come true.”

Take a look back at this special event in the videos below.

Don’t miss “Paint the Night” parade and “Disneyland Forever” fireworks, now showing nightly at Disneyland park during the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration.

  • I also would like to know if the parade and fireworks will still be running during Christmas time? We’re going in December and I would love to see the new parade and fireworks. It’s the only reason I haven’t watched video’s online!

  • Will they be coming out with a CD with all the music from the Disneyland Forever show?

  • The parade was beautiful! The performers had very good energy! Their smiles were contagious! My only suggestion for improvement is to find a wait times. Since the soundsational parade is 4:30pm people wait for the night time show after this one! I think a 5 hour wait is too long. I happily waited on 5/22 but I can’t imagine waiting 5 hours for every visit. 🙁

  • Will this run during Christmas time or will it stop during the hollidays? Thanks.

  • I have two questions. How long will the 60th celebration run? I have heard that it will be for 18 months. And at Christmas time, will we be able to see the new parade, fireworks and WoC or will they only show the Holiday stuff?

  • I would like to ask all of you, visited 60th diamond celebration and saw the “Paint the night” and “Disneyland forever”. What is your best place to see these shows ? I am gathering the information. I will visit DL&CDA on middle of Aug with sister and her daughter from Japan. 🙂 Can’t wait to see !!

  • Will I be able to buy the soundtracks for Paint the night and Disneyland Forever in iTunes Store? It was truly magical to watch the new parade and fireworks! I was up at 5:30 am here in Denmark to see it live 😀

  • As I live in Australia, I would love to know what time the parades and fireworks so that I can watch them. I can’t wait to see them. Great stuff!!!

  • I was able to attend the preview last night. What fantastic shows. Thanks to Erin and all of the Parks Blog staff for an amazing opportunity and kudos to all of the designers, artists, performers, character CMs, and the entire CM group at Disneyland. I’ll be coming back A LOT to see these shows.

    • Glad you could join us!

  • I was lucky enough to attend last night’s premiere. At times it felt like we were being herded around like cattle (moo!) but the parade and fireworks were awesome. Next month I’ll return with some friends who will be making their first visit to Disneyland!

    • Thanks for your patience 🙂

  • Magical and amazing…that best describes what these two shows look like! What a wonderful way to celebrate Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary!

  • Exciting stuff Erin. We’re planning to order in pizza tonight and watch the live feeds at home. Keep up the great blog coverage!

    • Sounds like a great plan, Dustin! And thanks – we’ve got more coming!

  • It would be nice if the live camera at Magic kingdom was positioned so you could see the parade.

  • I am visiting August 24 – 31. Has is been confirmed that these 2 shows will still be running through the rest of the summer?
