The #1 tip for me has always been to arrive as early as possible (especially on peak season days). If you’re staying at one of the hotels, take advantage of early admission. Ultimately, you’re ready to start a fresh new day and crowds are minimal. Use this time to get in on key attractions.
We typically get around 7 to 8 attractions in during just one hour. The rest of day is then less hectic since we’re not scrambling to get things done.
Extreme example: We were at Disneyland at the end of May and early June 2011. Star Tours was being re-opened and there was a massive crowd to experience the new enhancements on opening day. We heard from cast members that wait times were as high as five hours. The very next day, we took advantage of early admission and had a wait time of just 10 minutes.
