With summer quickly approaching, temperatures are on the rise. If you’re looking for treats that will help you beat the heat beyond the Mickey ice cream bar and Dole Whip, I’ve got a few suggestions for you:
Aw, shucks! Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort has a Mickey Gelato Sundae that is as cute as it is delicious. Looking for a dairy-free option? Try one of their tasty new slushes. Flavors change—so be sure to try them all! You can even bring home some of the magic with a can/bottle holder imprinted with the resort’s logo.

Tamu Tamu Refreshments at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a new menu filled with frosty treats. Choco-holics will love the Double Chocolate-Chip Ice Cream Sandwich. My favorite on the new menu? The Chocolate Waffle with Espresso Mousse—the combination of the hot waffle and chilled semifreddo is simply wild!
At Epcot, Liberty Inn just added Apple Pie a la Mode to their menu. Cool and creamy ice cream makes this hand-held treat a patriotic way to cool down.
Cooling off at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park? Take a break from Summit Plummet and cool down with a unique brrr-everage like Frozen Hot Cocoa at Lottawatta Lodge. Over Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, try the shaved ice at Lowtide Lou’s.
How do you stay cool on hot days at Walt Disney World Resort?

Hi Rachel, I saw some of the goodies that will be offered at Disneyland this summer, & in honor of the “60th” I’m going to try them all! The one that I need your help with is when the Carmel Candy rectangle on a stick, dipped in chocolate, will be available. I’ve tryed on 3 occasions to buy one, but they only make them on certain days & they always sell out quickly! Can you help me to find out when they make this special treat, & with the overwhelming demand, why they don’t make them daily. JC
Hi JC, Currently Caramel Bars are made every Saturday and they’re only available at Candy Palace.
Great list! How can I find out which of these items, including the Dole Whip, are included as snack credits on the DDP? Thanks so much!
Each location will have an icon on the menu indicating which items are eligible as snacks on the Disney Dining Plan. 🙂
James wife here – uh I would like the top one for breakfast! YUM!
<3WDW!
Waffles count as breakfast.. right? 🙂
Though these sound delicious, is there a list of all the locations serving non-dairy cool treats? Thank you!
Hi Laura, While we don’t have an official list, I have a few of my favorite dairy-friendly suggestions: Dole Whip, Frozen Lemonade (there are variations served across Walt Disney World Resort, but the one at Cheshire Café in Magic Kingdom is my favorite!), Sorbet from Artisans des Glace in the France Pavilion at Epcot, the Strawberry Lemonade novelty bar (available at ice cream carts) and Goofy’s Glaciers available at Goofy’s Candy Company and Big Top Treats just to name a few! Always let the location know you have a dairy allergy, and they will be able to let you know what options they have.
