Celebrating the Fourth of July at Walt Disney World Resort

Independence Day is coming up, and the parks at Walt Disney World Resort are planning to celebrate our nation’s 239th birthday with some star-spangled salutes to America!

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World Resort for the 4th of July, here are some highlights of the special entertainment planned for that day:

  • Magic Kingdom Park – “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” rockets into the air above Cinderella Castle. This special, fireworks spectacular will be presented two nights in a row, at 9 p.m. on both July 3 and 4.
  • Epcot – On July 4, enjoy a special concert of great American songs by Voices of Liberty at America Gardens Theater, where they’ll be performing at 12:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m., and 3 p.m. You can also meet Chip ‘n’ Dale in patriotic attire outside The American Adventure, and at 10 p.m. that evening “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” joins the celebration with the addition of a heart-pounding, all-American grand finale.
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios –The “Coolest Summer Ever” Dance Party leads up to a “Rockin’ 4th of July Celebration,” as the sky above Disney’s Hollywood Studios ignites in a shower of shimmering light for a pyrotechnic, rock ‘n roll road trip across America. The DJ kicks things off at 5:45 p.m. and keeps the party going until fireworks time at 10:15 p.m.

Looks like the 4th of July is going to be a blast all across Walt Disney World Resort!

  • Are all 4th of July events being held at the parks only? Would there be any other events at any of the resorts?

    • Alexes – Individual resorts may have small activities planned, but the main entertainment experiences for Independence Day will be held at Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

  • I was wondering will they have any type of Military showing or even a flag ceremony?

    • Henry – An enhanced Flag Retreat ceremony will take place in Town Square at Magic Kingdom Park at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

  • will Mulch Sweat and Shears provide the music for the fireworks at Hollywood Studios like in years past?

    • Yulady – The July 4th fireworks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be presented to recordings of rock ‘n roll hits from across America. Mulch, Sweat & Shears will be entertaining Guests throughout the day on Streets of America.

    Do you know if Betsy Ross will be doing storytelling this year, or will that old rascal Ben Franklin be walking about?

    • George – You can catch Ben Franklin in the show at the American Adventure attraction, but neither of those historical figures have been spotted walking around World Showcase for several years.

  • We have reservations for dinner at the Grand Floridian Resort at 7 pm. Where is the best place for us to view the MK fireworks from that resort? Thank you!

    • Jessica – The fireworks on Fourth of July are launched from sites around the Magic Kingdom, including Seven Seas Lagoon. Anywhere at the resort where you have a view of the park and the water, you’ll have a great show!

  • When dinning at the Grand Floridian Resort, we like to watch the fireworks from Narcoossee’s restaurant. They have a nice deck along the lake.

  • how come I cannot view the fireworks from this site. It said they would stream live? We have a really excited 5 year old. 🙁

  • Your not alone. I had very hard time just logging on to the site and not there is not link. Maybe too many eager Firework lovers for the system to deal with.

  • SO disappointed!! Could not connect to the blog, kept getting connection error, no info on where to go, tried to google a location in case it was somewhere else and all I saw was “private video” when I thought maybe I was on the correct site. What a mess. Disney – you usually do better than this. And I can’t even watch a recording?! Very sad. 🙁

  • Streaming was an absolute bust – we were terribly disappointed as we could not find the streaming on the blog site at all.

  • What happen to your live stream of July 4th fireworks? Your web site was unavailable. Are you going to have replay available?

  • I am so disappointed, are you going to replay the live stream so we all get to watch.
