There’s little more than a week left until the start of Frozen Summer Fun, starting June 17 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This event already promises a day filled with all things “Frozen,” from the “Frozen Royal Welcome” in the morning to “Frozen” Fireworks at night. Now, “Frozen” fans, we’re really making the day a perfect day for you with the addition of special screenings of the new animated short, “Frozen Fever.”

Created by the same filmmaking team who brought us the original animated hit, “Frozen Fever” takes us back to Arendelle where Elsa has been planning the best birthday ever for her sister Anna. On the big day, though, Elsa comes down with a cold, producing some surprising and hilarious consequences.

“Frozen Fever” debuted in theaters with Disney’s live-action “Cinderella” and will be available for the first time to own as part of the Walt Disney Animation Studios Short Films Collection, coming to Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on August 11 and to Blu-ray August 18.

During Frozen Summer Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll be able to enjoy the new animated short “Frozen Fever,” along with a peek behind the scenes at the making of the film. “Frozen Fever” will be showing at the ABC Sound Studio, twice each hour beginning at 10 a.m. daily from June 17 – September 7.

    • Kelly – You’ll have a great view anywhere along Hollywood Blvd.

  • Excited will be there June 20th to the 26th!!!

  • Is there a chance that these special summer Frozen events will continue into the fall? My next trip is in Nov and I would love to see this! I love everything Frozen!!! Please consider that.

    • Kathy – Frozen Summer Fun concludes Sept. 7, but you will still be able to enjoy some “Frozen” experiences when you visit in the fall. “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” will continue to be offered at the Hyperion Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You will also be able to meet Anna and Elsa in Princess Fairytale Hall at Magic Kingdom Park and catch their appearance in the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade each day. And at night, a sequence from “Frozen” is part of the “Celebrate the Magic” show projected on Cinderella Castle.

  • Very cool! Sould be very fun

I love Frozen. It’s a fantastic film. I love Frozen Fever too!

Before any naysayers arrive, it should be noted that Frozen is Disney Animation’s biggest hit since The Lion King. Frozen received acclaim from both critics and audiences, won a Golden Globe, two Academy Awards, and became the highest grossing animated film of all time. Plus, it is a great film with characters and music that audiences love, in addition to a great story. 🙂
As such, there has definitely been a big *public demand* for merchandise and content. So it is no surprise that Disney Parks have been featuring a lot Frozen attractions.

  • …But not in 3-D?

    • Eric – “Frozen Fever” was not presented theatrically in 3D.
