The Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration continues into Halloween Time when the season begins again September 11, with the addition of the new “Paint the Night” parade during the expanded 17 nights of Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland park!

In addition to the popular Halloween Time seasonal attractions, Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, Mickey Mouse and his friends in Halloween costumes, the Dia de los Muertos celebration and the special after-hours Mickey’s Halloween Party (a separate, ticketed event), guests will also be able to enjoy the new nighttime spectaculars that are the signature of our 60th anniversary celebration – “Disneyland Forever” fireworks, “Paint the Night” parade and “World of Color – Celebrate!” as well as special sparkling Halloween decor in honor of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration.

Please note: This year, Mickey’s Halloween Party will include “Paint the Night” parade and “Halloween Screams” fireworks. Mickey’s Costume Party cavalcade will not be featured this year; “Disneyland Forever” fireworks will be presented on non-party nights.

  • @Karyn, Not sure what you mean about ‘Florida based’. This blog posting is for the Halloween parties at Disneyland.

  • Has anyone been able to purchase tickets through the Disneyland website yet?

  • I am calling the ticket line to get my Halloween tickets and I have been on Hold for over 25 minutes.

  • That wouldn’t make any sense as the the Halloween tickets include admission during the hours of the party.

  • @Ricky…we are Premium APs so we don’t have any Blockout days. Still not sure why the 31st isn’t available! Thanks for your thoughts! I wish a Disney Parks person would respond, especially since this is Florida based!!!

  • I just got my tickets for 10/23. Super easy. Called the 714-781-4400 and told them I was a Visa card holder. Good luck everyone.

  • @Karyn, Illene… are you annual pass holders? Due to the 31st being on a Saturday, is it possible that that day is one of your passes’ blockout dates? I believe not every level of passholder can attend the parks on weekends.

  • Yes- why isn’t Halloween night available for purchase?

  • Is it true that Halloween night is already sold out? I logged on just after midnight and couldn’t purchase tickets and fell asleep for awhile and just tried again and now all are available except Halloween!!! I’m so upset!!!

  • I am an annual passholder and am currently online trying to buy the Halloween party tickets, but Halloween night isn’t available. When will annual passholders be able to buy tickets for Halloween night?

    Thank you!

  • @erin will the 60th anniversary decorations still be up during the Halloween festivities?

  • Hey everyone who has Visa cards if you log onto your chase account there is a section under limited time offers on the Halloween party. They go on sale at 7am Pacific time and you can purchase 8 tickets at a time. Hope this helps. The number to call is 714-781-4400. Hope this helps!

  • I went to this last year. On party nights the park opens earlier than non party nights. If you don’t have a ticket, the park closes at 6 or 7 and they are extremely efficient in sending you home if you don’t have the wristband.
Speaking of wristbands, we were incorrectly told that we had to go outside the park to get them, only to find them available at a few places within the park.
Three hours before the party officially starts it will begin to get very crowded inside as the partygoers start arriving. For those only there for the day it will be difficult to get on rides once this begins. For those attending the party this means that when it begins you will be able to ride a lot of rides in a short time. Also, some areas like Big Thunder Ranch close early for the fireworks show.
If you have the right pass/ticket you can go to California Adventure once Disneyland closes to you as they remain open for a few more hours. If you only have a single park ticket you should consider going to DCA on party days and DL on non party days.
Several rides will close before 9/11 for overlays. You can check the website schedules for the closures by going to an individual day for the park and scrolling down to see which attractions are closed. The schedule usually shows dates going forward about 6 weeks so Labor Day should be appearing soon. There are other travel websites that post “known” closures, but they may not be accurate. They are frequently close and they list the short closures of stores and restaurants for renovations sometimes.
Everything above is just my opinion based on my visit last year. Your experience may vary. We went to one weeknight party mid October as part of a several day trip.

  • To those who have a Disney Visa and are ordering tickets over the phone tomorrow — you don’t need to get an alert or heads up from Visa. Just call the number that Bianna posted above, have your Disney Visa handy and give the Cast Member the information so you can purchase your ticket.

The MHP tickets go on sale tomorrow morning for AP holders, Disney Visa holders and Disney Vacation Club members. The link for AP holders to buy tickets online should go live somewhere in the range of 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. PST, give or take a few minutes. Disney Visa Card holders and Disney Vacation Club members can buy tickets on the phone in that general time frame too (or shortly after 8 a.m.).

Be forewarned that the phone lines may jam up if too many people call at once. Don’t worry — just be patient and try again. Last year a lot of the party dates did not sell out for a while (like at least a couple of weeks or more). While you don’t want to wait too long to get your tickets, chances are you will not miss out on the night you want if you can’t get through at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning, or even immediately after the tickets go on sale to the general public on 7/29. Just try to get the tickets as soon as you can, but don’t fret or worry if you can’t get through right away.

I’m an old pro at dispensing Halloween Time and Mickey’s Halloween Party information, so I wouldn’t steer you wrong! 🙂

  • Everyone asking about the Disney visa advance purchase tickets for the Mickey not so scary Halloween party. You will be able to purchase them tomorrow by calling (714) 781-4400. I just called and spoke to a representative that is the only way you can purchase your tickets and get the discount/advanced purchase. Hope this helps:)

  • It is almost the 22nd (today is the 21st) and I have not received any info from my DISNEY VISA…. Any information would be appreciated.

  • @Jaime, I’m assuming we should be able to call Disneyland’s ticket number. Go to the ‘phone directory’ under the ‘Contact Us’ section of Disneyland’s web pages. I’m pointing you to the web page just in case it’s updated to reflect a dedicated number for party tickets.

@Tonya, it’s been mentioned to me by a cast member that ticket sales at least for Visa card holders go on sale at 7 AM Pacific. I cannot speak to Disneyland vacation club members or annual pass holders. For the latter, it’s my understanding that you’ll need to log in to your annual pass account. But when exactly can you being ordering is anyone’s guess. Also, in terms of attractions that are open…

The party details web pages states “access to neary all attractions”. I’ve never been to a Halloween party, but I would assume that attractions would close due to certain entertainment events. e.g. Sailing Ship Columbia, Canoes, etc. would close for events on the Rivers of America.

  • Are all the rides open during the Halloween party? And is it right at midnight that the tickets go on sale? At east or pacific?

  • @erin: The website is still not updated for Disney Visa card holders. I’m getting a but nervous since tickets go on sale tomorrow. Please help. Is there a number to call to order as Ricky stated in the previous comments?

  • Hello! Does anyone know what time will the tickets be available for Annual Pass Holders on the 22nd? Is it midnight? Also, how many tickets can each person purchase?

  • I checked the link above and it still does not mention how Disney Visa cardholders can order on the 22nd. Any updates Erin?

  • My grandson loves Halloween, so I have planned his first trip to Disneyland for nights that Mickey’s Halloween party is going on. Is it hard to get tickets if I do not have a season pass or Disney visa?

  • Anybody know how many tickets we can purchase if we are DVC, Annual Pass holder or Visa Card holder?

  • @Jessica, thank you for the additional leg work… however, that phone number is for help with annual passports.

@Crystal, I suppose it’s possible to use reward dollars, but I would assume you’d need to have a redemption card ready to go. i.e. I don’t think you can directly use the points on the ticket sales as you would for an airline ticket.

  • Hi Erin,
As a Visa holder, can I purchase the pre-sale tickets with my rewards dollars?

  • @Ricky and @Jaime I talked to an agent today about the Disney Visa holders and they said they will go on sale at 7am PT on the 22nd and gave me a number. 1-714-781-4567. Hope this helps out my Visa people lol.

  • We are so excited about the HP this year. My daughter will be turning three and can finally enjoy it this year and remember it!
We are wondering about the pricing, do we need to purchase a ticket for a 1 year old? And an a 2 year old? We are ap so we are counting the days till sales start.

  • I want to ask if the Ultimate Experience package that can combine Happiest Haunts Tour and Mickey’s Halloween Party will be available this year?

  • The morning of Saturday October 31st can you use that for your Magic Morning? Is there a limit of people admitted to the Magic Morning on Holidays? Is there a way to guarantee entrance?

  • Any idea as to when the park’s operating hours will be finalized and posted for September? Right now, the calendar only goes to the last weekend of August, which is a mere 43 days out. It’s making advance planning a wee bit difficult.

  • @Erin, Do you know what time Visa Card Holders can begin calling to purchase tickets on the 22nd?

  • Huh, Fall Dapper day at the park is 9/18. Now to plan a dapper halloween outfit!

  • I’ve already booked a trip for my family and I to visit for my son’s birthday, the 18th and 19th. Thank you so much for posting this info, I’ve been waiting not so patiently for the party dates to be released! This will be only our 2nd trip to the parks, and 1st time during Halloween. I plan on purchasing the hard tickets to the party, is there any indication how fast these tickets are going to sell out? Am I going to need to jump online right at midnight and a buy them? I just don’t want to miss the party because I couldn’t get tickets in time? Any tips on purchasing these would be much appreciated!

  • is the hatbox ghost will stay in the ride for halloween? will he be all deck out for christmas ? hatbox ghost welcome home for the holidays jack and sally they are happy to meet you for the first time

  • Chantelle — According to the calendar on the Disneyland website, Haunted Mansion is scheduled to be closed from Monday, August 24th through Thursday, September 10th (for the Haunted Mansion Holiday installation). It will reopen on 9/11/15.

Space Mountain’s Ghost Galaxy overlay usually only requires a few days to install, so I would imagine that Space Mountain will be open in its non-Halloween form on September 1st, and then will close down right around Labor Day-ish (so that it can reopen as Ghost Galaxy on 9/11).

  • Hi Erin,
Do you know when Space Mountain and the Haunted Mansion will close prior to setting up for Halloween? My husband and I will be at Disneyland celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary on 9/1 and I hope those rides won’t be closed!

  • Thanks for your quick response on fireworks. Just one more question, is Fantasmic performed on nights of the party? If so, does this include weekday nights?

  • It now makes sense how nighttime shows can be held during the weekdays on non-party nights. Typically, Disneyland has abbreviated hours that time of the year. I’ve only ever been to Disneyland in May/June and dusk occurs late; forcing Fireworks and other nighttime events to say 9 PM or later.

I just looked up dusk info. During Halloween time, it will be right around 7 PM, so nighttime events can easily be held even if park hours end for the night at 8 PM.

  • No mention of Fantasmic during October? Will this be going on?

  • Great news! How nice of you to have a party on my actual birthday, October 19th! Aside from celebrating my birthday and Disneyland’s 60th anniversary, my wife and I will be celebrating our first anniversary! Giddy up!

  • Erin, thank you for letting the web team know about updating the info for Visa holders!

@Jaime, I don’t have the number offhand. When I called, I started with the Walt Disney Travel Company number and navigated through menus until I got to ticketing (which I believe is a different department). But as Erin mentioned, the web site will be updated so it should have a direct number listed there.

  • Thanks Erin!

  • Erin, do you know why the park is closing at 5:00 pm on Sept. 10th???

  • Lorraine, MNSSHP is in Florida at WDW 😉

You’ll love Mickey’s Halloween Party, it’s a lot of fun!

  • When will haunted mansion and Space mountain reopen for Halloween?

  • Do you know if the Halloween Carnival will be back this season at Big Thunder Ranch?

  • @Ricky, Do you know what phone number you call to order them if you are a Disney Visa card holder?

    • Jaime – The website will be updated soon with information for Disney Visa card holders.

  • Hi Erin,

Do you know if Haunter Mansion and Space Mountain with be open again starting September 11th?

    • All Halloween Time offerings will be available beginning September 11, including Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy.

  • Got an answer to my question about Disney VISA card holders. You can place orders for Halloween party tickets starting on July 22nd. However, you must call Disneyland directly to do so; the web site isn’t set up to handle that. The web site is set up to handle annual pass holders on the 22nd as well as general public purchases starting on the 29th.

  • @Casey, in 2014, Space Mountain was closed from 8-Sep to 11-Sep (4 days). Then closed for a single day on 3-Nov. So it doesn’t seem to take too long to set up and take down its customizations.

Haunted Mansion was closed from 25-Aug to 11-Sep (18 days). And closed again from 12-Jan to 22-Jan (11 days). Definitely longer periods of set up and tear down.

I do not have any data for prior years, so not sure what to expect on average.
