Sixty years ago tomorrow, Disneyland opened its gates for the first time. Have you ever wondered what that day would have looked like on Twitter … if Twitter had been around in 1955? Well, tomorrow (which also happens to be #FlashbackFriday) you will have your chance to see this historic day unfold in your feed!
Through the power of social media … and with a little bit of Pixie Dust … the official Disneyland Twitter account (@Disneyland) will transport followers back to Disneyland opening day – July 17, 1955. Follow along as we tweet “Live from 1955” throughout the day and feature exciting flashback moments that will bring the sights and sounds of this historic day to life!
So travel back in time with @Disneyland and the hashtag #LiveFrom55 on Twitter throughout the day tomorrow for “live” updates direct from 1955!

I know this isn’t the place, but still no word on new disney dollars and when they’ll be coming out if they are coming out with new ones? Thanks!
Being from Australia, I wish there was some live feed to see the celebrations. I would love to be there, but can’t. 2 am here in Melbourne. Australia. Hope everyone has a fantastic day at Disneyland for their 60th Birthday.
Happy Birthday Disneyland!!! See you next year when I come for a long awaited holiday.
Hi Erin!
I am really excited to celebrate Disneyland’s 60th anniversary tomorrow! I just had a question in regards to special events going on throughout the day.
What would be the schedule for said events? And also, are there going to be any commemorative keepsakes being given out for the day?
Thank you in advance.
Is there anyway for us to save that GIF to post on social media?
