Enjoying Early Morning Skies at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

It sure looks like a peaceful morning here at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The resort’s four savannas, which are home to more than 200 zebras, giraffes, gazelles, kudu and flamingos, are still just waking up for the day.

  • On which savanna were you staying? My very favorite thing to do at AKV is to sit on the balcony and watch the animals. Unfortunately, my last few trips, it appears that the time I would be having coffee and breakfast is the time when the animals are inside being checked for the day. They have gone in somewhere between 6:30-7 am, and I’m not sure when they come back out because we try to leave to go to a park by 8 am at the latest. But, it is entertaining watching them round up the animals.

  • Just came back. Had our morning coffee overlooking the animals in the Savanna every day.
