I’m lucky to have visited San Francisco many times, but not until my recent Adventures by Disney Long Weekend did I realize how much I’d missed on previous visits.
It’s tempting to say I felt like a “local,” but this Adventures by Disney itinerary includes things Bay Area residents can only dream of doing. Hello exclusive visit to the Lucasfilm campus in the San Francisco Presidio! Why, yes, thank you for that private lunch and a wine-blending experience in the barrel room of Silverado Vineyards. And it doesn’t get more “Disney,” than a privately guided tour of The Walt Disney Family Museum.
These are just a few highlights from the chock-full four days and three nights that make up this discovery of the City by the Bay. On the second morning of our adventure many in the group said we’d seen and done so much that it already felt like a full vacation.
Everybody knows that San Francisco is a sightseer’s paradise with iconic attractions like the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman’s Wharf. While those never lose their appeal, Adventures by Disney offers a chance to experience the diversity that makes San Francisco so special – cosmopolitan flair, scenic natural wonders, historical sights and much more.
One of the many pleasant surprises about this weekend adventure was how outdoorsy it is. We biked along the bay to the Golden Gate Bridge and hiked the inspiring Muir Woods. There were less-active choices available, but tandem bikes and other options made these activities suitable for pretty much everybody. Later, a quick boat ride to Angel Island and we had breathtaking views of the city and bay and the perfect spot for a picnic lunch.
San Francisco offers so much to see and do that it’s easy to get overwhelmed and miss a lot. Not to worry, Adventures by Disney took care of everything to make sure we got the most from our trip. Adventure Guides, Eleni and Emily, were like two Fairy Godmothers handling every detail.
Our Adventures by Disney travel posse included lots of kids, moms and dads, young adults and Grandpa “Bumpa” Bob on his first big travel adventure. By the end of the trip we all felt like family promising to stay in touch. That’s not unusual, with families often becoming lifelong friends with one another and taking more Adventures by Disney trips together.
Yes, you may leave your heart in San Francisco, but with Adventures by Disney you’ll take away a lifetime of memories.
