Summer is an exciting time for Disney Cruise Line, with brand-new “Frozen” fun and itineraries all over the world. But autumn will be here again before we know it, so we’re already gearing up for another season of ghoulishly good times aboard our Halloween on the High Seas cruises!
Beginning early September through October, Disney cruisers are sure to get their fill of thrills, tons of treats and even a few tricks during this extra-spooky celebration. And the best part? In addition to the wickedly fun fall festivities, you also get tons of tropical fun in the sun.
Check out my top five favorite Halloween on the High Seas experiences, and let me know in the comments which one you’re most excited to see for yourself.
1. The Pumpkin Tree
Looming eerily over the atrium lobby, the Pumpkin Tree magically blooms with Jack-O-Lanterns during the cruise. And on the final evening, the pumpkins let their bright personalities shine—literally!—during a spooky surprise performance.
2. Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party
Who doesn’t love a family costume party with Disney characters? Plus, our “super” Cruise Staff get in on the fun with enough treats to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.
3. A Nightmare Before Christmas—Sing and Scream
Guests aboard our Halloween cruises get to experience this classic holiday film like never before with 3-D and 4-D effects, followed by an exclusive meet-and-greet with Jack and Sally.
4. Halloween Isn’t Just for Kids
The adult nightlife district aboard each Disney ship becomes the frightfully fun setting for an adult-only costume contest and electrifying dance party, proving once and for all that Halloween isn’t just for kids!
5. Haunted Stories of the Sea
Only the bravest cruisers dare to gather under the stars to hear haunted tales of the sea told by a mysterious sea captain. Is it just me, or are ghost stories scarier in the middle of the ocean?

Does anyone know if the Sep. 5th 2016Disney dream sailing will have Halloween on the High Seas?
Wonderful! It’s very hard to chose one of the top five favorite Halloween on the High Seas experiences. I loved all! But if it is to chose I think I would choose the 1 and 3 I am more excited to see. I will go on fantasy cruise on October 17, 2015. I was wondering if this cruise will have a Halloween party. It will really be a dream !!! I was not able to find the answer….
Sounds like great fun…. Gives our family one more reason to look forward to a terrific week at sea in late September. Anyone know if this replaces or is in addition to Pirate Night? Tia!
Only five weeks to go before my Halloween cruise … still gotta figure out costumes!
We are sailing Oct 2016! We are so excited! Have spent Halloween in the parks but this is our first Halloween cruise! Cruising out of New York, has anyone ever done that? How was it?
We are planning way ahead and going in October 2017. I can’t stand the wait…but we are waiting for our girls to get a little bigger. Gives me something to look forward to everyday! I love reading and researching about it. It will be our first Disney Cruise.
Jennifer click on the link on the top “Halloween on the High Seas”…it lists the cruises and dates with the Halloween festivities.
Yes I would like to know about the shorter weekend cruise.
Can’t wait for the cruise! We have our costumes and we are ready…
Do you know if the shorter weekend getaway cruises include the same Halloween activities as the longer cruises? I sure hope so!
