Comments

  • Greetings everyone,

Like most of the posts, I believe this offer should be extended to veterans (disabled or not, but I believe there is a program for 100% disabled vets).

And to CLARIFY one of the posts (my intention is to clarify and not ridicule the poster who stated that “active duty or retired members means they are the same as veterans” for the purposes of this offer.

    – ACTIVE DUTY: Currently serving
    – RETIRED: Did at least 20 Yrs and retired, OR was medically retired with less than 20 yrs of service (usually at least 16 yrs of service is needed), OR happened to take the offered early retirement (TERA) initiative during the recent drawdowns at 15 yrs of service.
    – VETERAN: Any member who used to [or could still be] in uniformed military (guard, active duty component, reserve….) who served and separated [or might even still be in]. It could have been 6 months……12 years. It doesn’t matter. They could have done 6 tours to the Middle East and still will not be able to get this offer.

So this offer is only available to active duty and retirees (“blue card holders”). Veterans who separated before retirement eligibility will only have a DD-214 to prove they were in the military once upon a time.

Long story short: A veteran is not always retired.
And along with everyone, I believe this offer should be extended to veterans with a DD-214 which states they were honorably discharged.

Hope I didn’t muddy the waters. Just trying to clarify.

    Thank you,
    V/r

  • Do the 4 day Military Salute tickets have to be used within a certain time period after activation? Like for instance, how some tickets have to be used within 14 days of activation.

  • Can the salute tickets be purchased at the park?

  • Why the change from 12 tickets limit to ONLY 6 for 2016?

  • Thank you Disney for once again doing the Salute to the Military tickets We are going January 4 th and can’t wait ! Do you know when they will be available to buy ? I keep calling my Itt and they keep saying that they have not been released .

  • I love that Disney gives these discounts, however I wish you could use them March 20th. That’s the only time we have available to go is the week of March 20th-26th. Is there any other Military discounts for those dates?

  • I was only in for 6 years and I got a vet ID and have gotten disney discount military tickets. Each state has a different way to get your vet ID

  • Since I can’t use the “Salute Rates” since I need to go the week of Easter 2016, are there any military rates for 4 days? If so, what is the price for a 4 day pass?

  • “September 25, 2015 through December 16, 2016, active and retired U.S. military personnel (including active and retired members of the United States Coast Guard, National Guard and Reservists) or their spouses can purchase.”

““Eligible Service Members” are active or retired members of the U.S. military, including the National Guard, Reservists and the U.S. Coast Guard.”

While I sincerely appreciate the discounted tickets, it would be wonderful if you included the U.S. Coast Guard as an active (and reserve) branch of the military. The Coast Guard has been designated as an active military service since 1915.

“The Coast Guard as established January 28, 1915, shall be a military service and a branch of the armed forces of the United States at all times.”

  • Incredibly grateful to Disney for continuing these discounts!! I’m taking our little ones on a trip in the Spring, to give them something to look forward to while dad is deployed. Thank you again!!

  • Thank you Disney! However, as a Service-Connected Vet with 4 kids, I would have appreciated some kind of discount as well.

  • Hi Thomas,

Actually the 2014-2015 Disney Armed Forces Salute ticket prices remain in effect for the duration of that offer (through 20 December 2015).

The ticket prices you posted above are for the 2016 Disney Armed Forces Salute and begin on 3 January 2016.

  • Dealstoall Appreciate Disney for conducting such a awesome program.

  • When will we be able to reserve the Military Discount Rooms at the Disneyland Hotel? I just called and they are not available yet to reserve.
    Thanks

  • While getting an annual pass for me and my husband (who is a Marine Corps veteran) I asked the cast member helping us why Disney offered discount to active and retired military members, but nothing for veterans. She informed us that it was the governments policy, not Disney, they they only offer discounts to active and retired members. Unfortunate, I know. I think veterans should have just as much privilege.

  • Thank You Disney, but I think this promotion should include ALL vets not just active or retired service members with IDs. All the people that served should be able to use their DD214 form to book hotels and buy tickets.

  • Why not have this offer available to veterans as well? Kind of like Knotts does in November for Veteran’s Day. Also, why doesn’t Disney bring back the get in free for your birthday promotion they had a few years ago? It’s not like doing so would affect it’s profits.

  • Thank you Disney for continuing this awesome program!

  • Thanks to Disney for continuing to offer discount tickets. Sad to see the price increase. Wish they would have continued to allow purchasing 12 tickets a year and not decreased it to 6.

  • Laura the tickets can not be purchased by vets unless they retired. To retire from the military you have to be in 20 years. If you were in for say only 8 years and went to war which is how you become a vet and then got out you do not have any card that is military id to use to buy these tickets. That is what the people above are asking for. A way to buy these tickets by maybe showing your are a vet from your dd214

  • 1. The old tickets will be fine to buy until they expire. The end date for the 2015 salute is DEC 20 2015 and the start date for the 2016 salute is JAN 3 2016. So there is no overlap in dates.
    2. Ticket prices typically go up every year so this is no surprise.
    3. The offer DOES extend to vets, as long as they have a valid form of military (not government) I.D. The Disney Salute offer can be used by those with a Tan DAVPRM card and those with blue or pink retired card. (As well as active duty CAC cards and green IDs, and tan spouse IDs.)

  • I agree with James and Kelly above! My husband proudly served in the military and was honorably discharged and he receives a military discount with a copy of his DD214 at various other venues! I think it would be nice if Disney recognized all military veterans not just currently serving or retired.

  • Just wanted to say thanks again for the awesome options for the Salute tickets. I can’t wait to get mine again next year!

  • Thank you Disney for offering this amazing deal!

For anyone complaining about this offer not including vets, its clearly states ‘active or retired members’…. That would mean Veterans.

  • Veterans also sacrificed their lives and time protecting our country. It’s not like the tickets are free, therefore it would be nice of Disney to extend this offer to Veterans.

  • It would be nice if you could extend this to the Vets or Disable Vets.

  • So the prices announced in your article dated 26 June are no longer being offered? 3 Day Park Hopper pass was $132 and stated that price was good until 18 December 2015. Is there a reason for the change in dates/prices? Also in your June article the limit was 12 tickets per household. Now it’s back down to 6? Guess I’ll have to go buy my tickets today to get the current rate. Thank you for the update.

  • Thank you Disney for renewing the Salute tickets again!

  • I was actually going to go to the base on Monday to get the 4 day disneyworld tickets for $177. We already have our hotel reservation booked for November this year. Can we still purchase those tickets and use them in November?
