  • Erin, is there a possibility World of Color Winter Dreams could come back for the holidays this season?

    • Hi Nick – We’ll have details on entertainment for the holiday season to share soon.

  • The most wonderful time of the year!

  • Thank you so much, Erin.

I must admit — I am ready to be done with summer and move into Fall, Halloween Time and then on to the glorious Holiday Season at Disneyland Resort. I can’t wait!

    • Me too!

  • So excited!!! We’ve never been during Christmas and we’ll be celebrating a birthday and a triumph! Staying at the Grand California for the first time too. This will be our best vacation ever.

    • That sounds wonderful! Have a great time.

  • It’s going to be epic !!!! Counting the days<3

  • Will there still be paint the night and Disneyland forever during the holidays? I LOVE the Christmas festivities but was hoping to see the anniversary shows while there over Christmas and New Years!

    • We’ll have details to share soon, Debra. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog.

  • Does anyone know if they will continue the 60th anniversary light parade or fireworks during the holidays?

    • I’ll have an answer for you on that soon.

  • Ha, I will be there for a few days in November…leaving on the 12th. :p Oh well, I’m sure the park will still look amazing as I thread the needle between holidays! 😉

  • I’m so excited to return to the parks after 2 long years away . We have 3 more months until our visit !

  • Will be there for a week in December. Can’t wait to take in Disneyland at Christmas. I do hope we get to see the Diamond Celebration shows like Paint the Night and World of Colour and the Fireworks.

  • YAY! I am running the Avengers 5K that day! Once I am done, I can hop over to the park 🙂

  • So excited! Can hardly wait the 90 days until our family’s 12 day “Celebration Trip” begins. Our eldest daughter will be on her honeymoon, our second daughter will be celebrating her 10th anniversary (they honeymooned in Disneyland during the 50th) and my husband is retiring that month (we honeymooned in Disneyland in 1979). Added to Disneyland’s 60th it will be a celebration for the ages for us!

  • When will you be announcing the entertainment line up? It makes it really hard to plan a trip to DL when there is lack of information. We would love to see DL during the Holiday’s but don’t want to miss the 60th anniversary celebration. I know DL is more of a local theme park so it makes it frustrating for out of towners.

    • I’m sorry, Tricia. We’ll have that information soon.

  • Been waiting for these dates for what seems like years (8 months). It is frustrating that DL release info so late – coming from the UK we will have 5 days (maximum length of ticket without buying an AP) and also want to visit LA and San Diego. It’s hard to plan and book without knowing these dates. Thankfully I think we are ok but I was hoping for an 11th start on Veterans Day.

  • @Chris, you can purchase more than 5 days without an annual pass. We had an extended stay a couple years ago where we got the 5-day hoppers, then added on 2-day hoppers. You can of course choose to not get hoppers, but tickets to a single-park only. Same thing; get a book of 5, then add on a second as needed.

  • We spend every Christmas at the Grand Californa, we always did the Fantasmic desert party. With the new packages they have now for Fantasmic, do you think this will be available? Also with Diamond celebration, will they have the holiday tour this year?

  • I’m genuinely hoping they bring back the normal firework display for the holiday season, it makes me cry every year and the Christmas music is amazing. I like the 60th fireworks, but it doesn’t tickle my heart strings like the snow fall with “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas” playing at the end.

  • Will Mickey and Minnie get back their Ice Rink from Anna and Elsa this year for the Christmas Fantasy Parade?

  • Do they do any kind of Santa Photos at Disneyland during the holiday season?

  • Hey Kylie, Santa usually frequents the Big Thunder Ranch area and Five and Dime in DCA. I believe he’s also near the Cove Bar on Paradise Pier. Lots of opportunity to get photos with Santa!

I hope the Holiday Fireworks return as it’s our favorite firework show, even more than the 60th fireworks. There’s something special about the songs and fireworks during the holidays that make it so magical. Can’t wait to see the holidays again!

  • Hi Ricky

Thanks for the info about “adding” extra days. I emailed DL earlier in the year as some people said you could add days (for I believe $30) but some said not. DL confirmed there was no longer an option to do this.

    Can anyone confirm?

    Thanks

  • I’m so happy the dates have been revealed. I’ve been waiting so I can plan my families trip for during the holiday celebration. I really hope we’ll be able to see the entertainment for the 60th during the holidays. I really want to see the new fireworks and paint the night parade. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Christmas fireworks and parade, but I might not get to go back to Disneyland for a while after this trip so this would be my only opportunity to see the new stuff for a while. Anyways, I’m looking forward to hearing about what the park has in store for us this year.

  • I am a Walt Disney World veteran, and I am taking my first trip out to Disneyland November 12-19! I am so excited to experience how Disneyland celebrates the holiday season as well as all the amazing things already there in celebration of the 60th anniversary! It will also be my first RunDisney experience, as I am running the Avengers Super Heroes 5K! I can’t wait!

  • Kylie (question #19 above) —

Santa Claus is in California Adventure (inside the Elias & Company store on Buena Vista Street).

Santa is also in Disneyland — for the past few years he has been at the Jingle Jangle Jamboree. I have a feeling that the JJJ won’t be happening this year, but he will probably be in the little cabin at the Big Thunder Ranch, greeting guests.

From Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve, Santa Claus can be found at the 3 hotels of the Disneyland Resort as well. He poses for photos by the large Christmas trees at the Grand Californian Hotel and at the Paradise Pier Hotel, and he has a beautiful photo spot in the Fantasy Tower of the Disneyland Hotel.

Last year, Santa Claus even appeared at Catal Restaurant in Downtown Disney for several days!

  • We are really hoping for Christmas themed fireworks, parades and World of Color. Have never been in Disneyland for Christmas and would love to see these. The Anniversary parades and fireworks are great but the holidays really should still be celebrated too! Wishing on a star for this!!

  • Alicia — I agree with you! Don’t get me wrong — I am thrilled that Disneyland is 60 years old, and the park has been part of my life for well over 40 years.

However… everyone who visits Disneyland Resort enjoys different things about it. Some people are completely mesmerized by the nighttime shows. Some people are more interested in the rides. Some people really love the food and make a point of trying lots of dishes around DLR. Some people are really interested in the details and hidden gems around DLR.

For me, personally, my favorite times to be at Disneyland these days are when there is some sort of holiday or seasonal event going on. I cannot get enough of Disneyland Resort during the holiday season — it is a tradition for me, and a magical time. I like the overall, thorough holiday transformation, and the whole Resort is involved in it. I would hate to visit in November or December and feel like DLR was only halfway in the holiday spirit because a lot of elements are missing.

I don’t know about World of Color or the Believe…in Holiday Magic fireworks, but I am pretty sure that A Christmas Fantasy Parade will be back in some way. I am hopeful that not too many things will be missing from the holiday line-up this year.

  • Hi everyone! I have a trip planned the week after Christmas, very excited to bring my family to the Magic Kingdom! I know it is going to be incredibly busy, but how busy are we talking? Way more crowded than busy days in summer?

  • We’ll be there in the Nov 2-11 period–will we be missing a lot?
