Holidays at the Disneyland Resort begins November 13, and today I’m excited to share details on what this dazzling holiday season will bring to Disneyland park, Disney California Adventure park and the Downtown Disney District.

“A Christmas Fantasy” Parade at Disneyland Park

At Disneyland park, “A Christmas Fantasy” parade returns, showing daily along with the new “Paint the Night” parade each night. “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” will return in January after the holiday season ends. Each night, the all-new “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular will light up the park as we continue the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration; “Believe … in Holiday Magic” fireworks will not be presented this year.

World of Color – Celebrate!” continues throughout the season at Disney California Adventure park, along with “World of Color – Winter Dreams.”

Be sure to check the calendar page of Disneyland.com for details on daily times for all shows and spectaculars.

Also at Disneyland park, Santa Claus will greet guests at a new location in Critter Country. When he visits Disney California Adventure park, Santa can be found at Elias & Co. on Buena Vista Street.

Here’s a look at this year’s returning favorites during Holidays at the Disneyland Resort:

Comments

  • Does anyone know why “Live The Magic” is not being played anymore at the conclusion of the Disneyland Forever fireworks show? The only song after the show is “A Kiss Goodnight.” During the summer, both songs were played one after the other at the conclusion of the fireworks. Is there any chance of “Live The Magic” returning at the end of the fireworks show? If so, when?

  • I see the dates as December 5 and 6 for the Candlelight processional. Can you now give out the times during these dates as to when it will be shown? Example: 6 & 8 PM? Has there been a celebrity narrator chosen and can you now tell us who it is?

  • I am so excited that I will be going to Disneyland November 16th for my birthday. Will all the Christmas decorations be up or will they still be putting it all together? I just love it at Christmas time.

  • Will Tinkerbell still fly during fireworks throughout the holiday season (weather permitting)?

  • Any info on the Holiday Tour? We are already booked for the weekend of Nov.13th!

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reconsider doing the Holiday Fireworks! They are a tradition in our family and I am devastated they will not be happening this year. I understand the castle because of the diamonds but if you can make Halloween fireworks happen, please make Christmas fireworks happen too!!!

  • Anyone know about plans for Thanksgiving? We would like to have a traditional dinner somewhere in the Disneyland park.

  • I was so excited about our first Disneyland Holiday experience…until reading all of this. I’ve always heard of how magical the decorations are and how breathtaking the fireworks and snow is. Now I’m sad as it seems the best parts are going to be missing. It may be the 60th Anniversary, but it’s still Christmas 🙁

  • Will Space Mountain be off of refurbishment on the 13th? I see that it is scheduled now at the first of November? Thanks!

  • I’m there with Dennis. I don’t get to Disneyland every year. I am glad the 60th will still be there for the holidays, when we’re coming.

    That said….

    Please, Disneyland.

Have the 60th fireworks presentation first, and then follow up with Believe, so every one can experience the magic of a White Christmas together.

And what’s a little snow on the castle between friends….

  • I have to think that all of the people upset are people that have already seen the Diamond Celebration items. Me not being one of them, I am thrilled that I will get to see them.

The holidays was the only time we could get everyone together this year and I was worried that we wouldn’t get to experience the Diamond Celebration events.

Thank you DL for allowing everyone to catch the once in a lifetime Diamond Celebration activities!

  • I really don’t understand why you used most of the design elements of the winter castle in the diamond castle, yet decided to not run the Christmas fireworks? It would have seemed to be the plan all along. You have the diamond spikes on the turrets and the lights in the roof tiles. Seems like you could play the Christmas fireworks pretty much without issue. If “Remember, Dreams Come True” is any indication, we’ll be watching “Disneyland Forever” for another ten years. Certainly, they won’t be missed for a few weeks?

  • I haven’t been to Disneyland during the holidays for about 7-8 years, so I’m not familiar with all of the holiday decorations so I’m excited about the new changes and am sympathetic with other peoples’ disappointments about losing certain decorations and holiday overlays… That being said, I truly will miss Jingle Jamboree and all of its activities! The activities, games, entertainment & food were all favorite things at the Springtime Jamboree, especially the character Meet & Greets with the more unique and rarely seen characters with much shorter lines during our mid week Disney Resort during the 3rd week of April of this year. Along with losing the Circle D Ranch at Big Thunder Mountain (especially the Petting Zoo which will be the greatest loss of all) in order to make way for Star Wars Land! Not disappointed with the new expansion, just the removal of the ranch and the opportunity to have access to the Petting Zoo, the Jamboree & Big Thunder Ranch BBQ… Please reconsider keeping the animals on resort property for all park guests to visit in an equally serene and magical spot that Disney is so famous for creating and providing for the past 60 years!

  • I genuinely hope you reconsider bringing back the holiday fireworks, they’re so magical and my favorite show. I’m literally in tears they won’t be on this year, I finally have my family coming to visit during that time and wanted to be with them when “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas” came on with the snow fall. The magic isn’t the snow fall, so that being compensated in the frozen segment doesn’t do it justice. It’s about the song, the performance of that show that just gives you that feeling of togetherness, happy memories, and just being with your loved ones. Frozen while a good movie, doesn’t resignate any of those emotions. The entire show, while a technology advancement just doesn’t carry as a holiday performance, it’s great for satisfying summer crowds and to bring new wonder for passholders, but doesnt offer that wonderful feeling of holiday magic.

  • PLEASE reconsider the christmas overlay, the garland, and the Believe show for Christmas at Disneyland. We look forward to this every single year and have already booked our room for the season there. I am reconsidering staying now. There truly is NO feeling like the one you get when the castle twinkles and it snows for a while on main street. I have seen people cry. I see the amazement on children’s faces EVERY time. You are truly doing us a disservice by not keeping what makes the holidays special at Disneyland. I beg you to please reconsider! I am so disappointed.

  • I am totally fine with changes. I love the new fireworks show & I really liked the Paint the night parade. Having said that, I too am very sad to read there will be no holiday castle, garland and fireworks.

There is something so SO magical about walking onto Main street & seeing the tree and then turning the corner to see the gorgeous decorations and garland and snowy castle during the holidays. You become immersed in ‘feeling’ the magic of the holidays.

Every year I get something in the mail from Disney with the picture of the snowy castle & I instantly get that feeling and long to be at the park for the holidays. We haven’t been able to go for a few years & we’re going this year. I cannot imagine that the “FEEL” of the holidays will be there as well as it has in the past without the inclusion of the very things that ‘make’ that special holiday magic.

Please suggest at least adding some lights to the current 60th décor on the castle and run the I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas at the end of the new fireworks. Just something to keep that magical feeling that everyone is talking about missing.

    Thank you!!

  • Our whole family looks forward to the holiday fireworks show Believe. It is an integral part of Holiday Time at Disneyland much like the tree on Main Street. I’m not sure how you can have one without the other. I sincerely hope Disney changes their mind on this decision.

  • Is there any chance of any of this being open by November 7th? I am hoping to see some Christmas attractions as we will be coming home on November 10th.

  • Will Big Thunder Ranch BBQ be open through the Christmas season. Thank you so much for all the wonderful information.
