Fall Foliage at Disneyland Park

Fall flowers are in full bloom at Disneyland park! For this video, I asked our talented horticulture team to name all of the featured foliage. Here they are, in order of appearance:

Dark Blue Lobelia; White and Purple Alyssum; Orange and Yellow Mums; Yellow, Orange and Magenta Echinacea and Yellow African Marigolds; Purple Ornamental Cabbage and Orange Calendulas; Purple Leaf Ornamental Peppers; Dark Leaf Kale; Striped Ornamental Corn; Purple Ornamental Cabbage and Orange Calendulas; Olive Tree Swan Topiaries; Spreading Blue Angelonia; Tricolor Amaranthus; Dark leaf Dahlias; Yellow, Orange and Magenta Echinacea; Yellow African Marigolds; Rudbeckias; White Alyssum; Orange Petunia and Yellow Calibrachoa.

I really like the way the horticulturists incorporated cabbage and corn into the landscape. What’s your favorite feature?

  • Both Disneyland and Walt Disney World have the most talented and dedicated horticulture teams. People take this truly unique feature of the parks for granted—almost not noticing it—but like most things, you would certainly notice if it were not there. I am always amazed to see how well Disney Parks beautify its parks to their full potential and makes sure that every square inch of the park is looking the best it can be.

  • As Aaron mentioned, the plants & flowers are probably one of the more “taken for granted” aspects of the park but are one of my favorite things. You can tell exactly what season it is just by looking at the flowers (even if it’s still 90 degrees outside!)

  • beautiful flowers + video = who did the music?

  • Shannon: I have tried and tried to track down a vendor for the Amaranthus tricolor in the central park by the castle. When I go online to look for this particular cultivar, they are not quite what Disneyland has! Can you help me?
