As we shared earlier, today is Magic Kingdom Park’s anniversary. But it’s also the anniversary of the second Disney theme park built in Florida – Epcot!
The park was the brainchild of Walt Disney himself, who dreamed about building a place where the possibilities of the future could be explored and enjoyed. Walt’s dream eventually evolved into the park that became EPCOT (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow), which was fronted by the park’s iconic attraction, Spaceship Earth.
We shared this rare time-lapse video of Spaceship Earth being built with Disney Parks Blog readers back in 2012, and are happy to share it again today in honor of the park’s anniversary.

Wow! I still remember how we used to watch a tv special “One Man’s Dream” with Michael Landon! it was amazing!!
This is so cool!!! I love Epcot and I can’t wait to hopefully go to Disneyworld again in a year!
