This week’s look at a Disney villain shines a spotlight on Maleficent from “Sleeping Beauty.”

First appearing in the 1959 film, Maleficent’s villainous deeds vary from her putting a curse on a baby Princess Aurora to tricking a 16-year-old Aurora into pricking her finger on a spinning wheel. Maleficent’s anger eventually got the best of her when she turned herself into a dragon to battle the princess’s love, Prince Phillip.

Today, Maleficent makes an unforgettable appearance in dragon form in Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom Park.

  • Doesn’t get much more villainous than Madame Maleficent! Would love seeing the Chernabog in this series during Halloween week…..
