Holidays at the Disneyland Resort brings even more opportunities for play, entertainment and holiday shopping to the Downtown Disney District in Anaheim.
Olaf, the summer-loving snowman from the blockbuster Disney animated motion picture, “Frozen,” returns to sunny California to reopen his Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink in Downtown Disney District between ESPN Zone and Earl of Sandwich. The custom-designed, 50-by-90-foot rink features colorful “Frozen”-themed décor, holiday and “Frozen”-themed music and the figure of Olaf himself overseeing the fun.
The rink will be open Monday through Thursday from 3-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 2-11 p.m.; and Sunday from 2-10 p.m. Skates and helmets are provided with the admission fee.
As in holidays past at Downtown Disney District, the ice rink is surrounded by the Downtown Disney Winter Village, featuring chalets and carts offering a variety of holiday gift ideas, including Star Wars-themed items from World of Disney; magic, gags and novelties from Houdini’s Magic Shop; yo-yos and juggling kits from Duncan Yo-Yo; crystal art from Arribas Brothers; hot chocolate, snacks and desserts from Ghirardelli; personalized objects from You Name It; surfboard themed art are from Laguna Beach Surfboards; and personalized holiday ornaments from Ice-Land Workshop. A Working to Give/ACT Anaheim chalet will offer handmade holiday stockings with all proceeds going to Accelerate Change Together.
Downtown Disney District will also have a full lineup of special entertainment offerings for the holidays, including live performances by Holiday Carolers nightly December 4-25 and a 40s Jazz/Pop Vocal Group from December 25 through January 1. Appearances by Duncan Yo-Yo experts, and the Houdini Magic Shop Show are also on the schedule. Horse & Carriage rides will be offered November 27 through January 2.
And a special Downtown Disney District holiday tradition, Tuba Christmas, will take place at noon on Saturday, Dec. 19. No matter how you celebrate, Downtown Disney District will have something for you this holiday season.

Last year, my family enjoyed eating at Earl of Sandwich, ice skating at Olaf’s Frozen Ice Rink, visiting the shops and enjoying the live music – all of which you mention in this post. However, with the parking now limited to two hours, we wouldn’t be able to do all that in a visit, which makes it less likely we will visit this year.
When does the skating rink open? We will be there on the 29th of November and can’t wait to see all the christmas activities.
Look forward to seeing something similar when I come next year. I love Olaf. He’s so cute.
Your first 2 hours of parking are free. An additional 2 hours may be validated at AMC Theatres and Downtown Disney District table-service dining restaurants. Go get a beer at ESPN. They’ll validate your ticket.
The skating rink is already open:-)
I’m interested in seeing an actual entertainment calendar for the DTD stage. The one in front of AMC theaters. I’ve been unsuccessful in sourcing *any* dates / times from the Internet overall.
We just went last week for our Disney Vacation and my boys LOVED the skating rink!! All of the staff was amazingly sweet and loving! There was a cast member who was supervising the ice rink and went above and beyond with my little boys!! He gave them pointers and encouraged them every time they fell. The rest of the staff was so friendly as well! My oldest mentioned he wanted to work there one day and the lead cast member for the evening told him he would write his name down so when he’s old enough to work he can come back and work there 😉
My son hasn’t stopped talking about it! We go to Disneyland pretty often but this is the first time my son said this is the most fun he has ever had! Thanks Disney!
