This month in Disney history, “Beauty and the Beast” debuted in theaters, introducing us to a young, book-loving heroine named Belle.

In the film, Belle bravely sets off in the forest to find her father and agrees to take his place in captivity at Beast’s castle. Once there, her kindness wins over the castle’s enchanted inhabitants and eventually softens the heart of the Beast. In the end, Belle not only falls in love with Beast, but helps save him from the jealous wrath of Gaston.

Thanks to Kent Phillips for the great images.

  • What a beautiful photo set, just simply beautiful. Belle is my favorite Disney princess, for her selflessness, compassion, familial devotion, and love of reading. This photo collection does her story right, with its richness, high quality and overall beauty. The casting for Belle is exceptional, the set is wonderful, and the shoot really brings Belle and the movie to life. Bravo Disney, bravo!

    • I’m happy you like them, Dustin. Belle and Ariel were my favorites when I was younger.

  • Beautiful!

    • Thank you!

  • Oh my goodness – these are beautiful. Thank you for sharing these and others like them. I love them. They are the kind of awesome photos guests can never get, but adore. In the future would it be possible for you to post images like these at slightly higher resolution? Maybe 4×6 size? I would love to have the fun of scrapbooking them for my Disney album. Thank you!!!
