As we previously announced, new experiences like the “Rivers of Light” and Kilimanjaro Safaris are planned to debut at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2016. Today, we’re thrilled to share a first look at another new addition to the park that is sure to please guests – Tiffins restaurant.
Tiffins will celebrate the art of traveling, featuring a diverse menu drawing from places that inspired the creation of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Open for both lunch and dinner, Tiffins will also include waterfront views from comfortable indoor and outdoor seating areas. And if you’re wondering about the story behind the name, “tiffin” is an Indian English word for a midday meal or a type of container used to carry food while traveling.

We well be coming to Disney Christmas 2016. Have to make dining reservations end of June, but well change one of them as soon as Tiffins is open. Can’t wait

To answer your question, Pam, YES! Tiffins will definitely be on our to-do list for 2016! 🙂 We have found such wonderful and interesting dining experiences in both Animal Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom Lodge, so I’m sure this offering will live up to the reputation. Very excited to see more details when available!
Will this restaurant be included in Tables in Wonderland?
we are coming to Animal Kingdom for the first time ever in a deluxe resort. Dec of 2016… Jiko food isnt my style though i hope this has a different selection. Im so excited to try a deluxe resort.. POFQ was out home away from home.. time for a change it was between AK and POLY. I am so happy to see this new restaurant and what about night time events?
Animal Kingdom could sure benefit from a place like this.
Do you know if the menu will have any vegan entrees? That’s also something that’s pretty lacking in that park.
I am always open to a new restaurant experience. Where will it be and when is the opening?
I love the idea of a new restaurant in Animal Kingdom. If food quality is similar to Jiko (our favorite), Boma or Sanaa, that would be fantastic. We usually only eat counter service in Animal Kingdom because we are no impressed by the food at Rainforest or Yak and Yeti.
Probably not enough info yet to determine if it would rise to “must do”, but it could be interesting.
If it’s signature due to type of food, that’s probably OK(if it’s not “over the top” expensive), but if it also has the dress code some signature restaurants (mostly ones located at resorts, I believe) have, that might not be attractive for the middle of Animal Kingdom.
This is WONDERFUL news! I can’t wait to find out more information. Animal Kingdom definitely needs more places to eat. Can’t wait! We’ll be there in 2016 🙂

I”m very excited for a new restaurant coming to Animal Kingdom, it looks wonderful. Would love to know if this will be open in April, we will be there the last week of April.
I see it listed as Signature, so I’m assuming that the menu will match up with other Signature dining locations in terms of food and quality?
