We’re happy to share with you that just moments ago, new Star Wars entertainment offerings and attraction enhancements were officially unveiled at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The Star Wars galaxy is now closer than ever before, thanks to these new offerings:
Star Wars Launch Bay
Star Wars Launch Bay, located in Animation Courtyard, offers guests the chance to interact with Star Wars characters by choosing to encounter the Dark Side in a Star Destroyer themed area, or visit with the brave Rebels in a makeshift Rebel Base – clear your mind and choose wisely, as one path may lead to Darth Vader while the other leads to Chewbacca.
Fans of the film franchise can also visit two different exhibits – Celebration Gallery and Celebration Hallway to view iconic ships from the Rebel Alliance and Imperial Navy fleet, as well as replica Star Wars props and murals. Guests excited for upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens can head to Preview Gallery to explore an area filled with costumes, artwork, models and more from the new film. And of course, shoppers can get their fix at Launch Bay Cargo, a unique shop that will offer a wide selection of Star Wars merchandise, including original artwork.
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
This popular attraction, which takes guests on a daring journey through the Star Wars galaxy, has been enhanced to feature new characters and adventures from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple
Younglings can get in on the fun over at Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. This popular offering, which allows young guests to step into the shoes of a Jedi in training, has been enhanced to feature new characters, including a new villain – the Seventh Sister Inquisitor from Star Wars Rebels.
Star Wars: Path of The Jedi
Guests who wish to be introduced to (or relive) the adventure and excitement of the Star Wars film franchise can do so at Star Wars: Path of the Jedi. Here, they can view an abridged cinematic reel that reviews Star Wars episodes I-VII.
Galactic Food
New Star Wars-inspired items have been added to menus at Food & Beverage locations throughout the park. Be on the lookout for Blue Milk Panna Cotta, Padawan Limeade, BB-8 Lemon and Butter Cream Cupcakes, and much more.
But the fun doesn’t end there. The “Symphony In The Stars: A Galactic Spectacular” nightly fireworks show will begin blasting off December 18. Be sure to keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for more news and updates.

We are visiting Disney at the end of March. I have two boys that are dying to do Jedi training. Any tips on navigating this area? Thanks. 🙂
For those wondering about Fantasmic and fireworks- HS has had several different fireworks shows over the past few years and they have never interfered with Fantasmic. The fireworks typically start shortly after Fantasmic ends. Fantasmic is popular and they make a lot of money off the dining packages so I doubt they would replace Fantasmic with fireworks.
It is very disappointing there is no Star Wars weekends. While these things are nice, they are not thrilling and certainly not a replacement. Because of the lack of SWW, we have decided not to renew for the first time in many years.
Do you know if they will offer the Dessert party for the fireworks during the week of 12/18-12/25?

Thanks for the exciting info, Jennifer! We have reservations at the end of January for Fantasmic dining package. I am wondering with the Star Wars fireworks will take the place of Fantasmic or it is a separate fireworks at a different time?”
I have the same question.
Any word as to what events will happen at the premiere event on the 17th? It appears everything that was supposed to happen that night is already happening or will begin the very next day.

In previous posts, it states the fireworks are weekend nights. Here, you say they are weekly. Can you please clarify so that I can plan accordingly for our upcoming February visit? thanks!
Jennifer, the cinematic reel that reviews Star Wars episodes I-VII in the Star Wars: Path of The Jedi attraction is a great idea ahead of the new movie. Will this be available elsewhere, e.g. Disney’s website, one of Disney’s tv channels, Disney’s YouTube channel, etc.? We cannot make it to WDW this year, but I planned to (try to) watch the prior six movies ahead of the new Star Wars movie, and this option would help greatly. Thanks!
We’ve got a Fantasmic Dining reservation in April. Will the reservations still be valid for the new fireworks?
Any chance that even though there are no Star Wars weekends, they will offer the character breakfast with Mickey and Minnie, Goofy, etc. in their Star Wars regalia?
The Star Wars Galactic Dessert Party that’s being held in conjunction with the fireworks show is listed as Jan 5-March 19. I don’t know if the fireworks themselves are also ending on that date.
We will be there in the beginning of April. Will the fireworks show still be going on? Is there an end date to the fireworks?
Thanks Jennifer — that’s great!! Is there an END DATE for the fireworks?? Didn’t think to ask before…
Ongoing – no end date to report at this time. 🙂
What was the official start date of the new Jedi Training? Our last day was December 1st. My son really wanted to do it but was told it was up in the air as to when they would open it.
What are the END DATES for 1) Launch Bay exhibits/film, 2) Meet n Greets, and 3) Galactic Food offerings?
For many of us who had planned for Star Wars Weekends (now cancelled) and/or for the Dark Side Half in April, it would mean a lot if these things continued through June.
These offerings are ongoing – no end dates.
So, with all of these attractions opening now and fireworks on the 18th, what’s going to be special and unique for the big opening night event on the 17th?
These new fireworks aren’t going to interfere with Fantasmic are they?
Are there any other characters meet-and-greets offered besides Darth Vader and Chewbacca?
I had the same question as Sandy, what time are the expected to be done nightly?
The fireworks sound awesome! I don’t see them on any of the times guides. Do you know what time they will be and if they are nightly?
They will be nightly. No word on times yet.
Not going to lie but I am still pretty disappointed that there will be no more Star Wars weekends. My first trip in May and Star Wars weekends was a big reason why I chose to go that month. It is my fault for planning to early before they announced anything. I am happy the flower and garden got extended. I am also looking forward to the new firework show! I hope they do some kind of dessert package with special seating for the new firework show. Only two weeks left for the release of Force Awakens! I can not wait to see it!! Thank you for everything! Disney Parks Blog is the best!
Do you know if there will be any extra entertainment offerings on Dec. 18th? Maybe additional characters?
