“When is the best time of year to visit?” That’s a question I get asked often and is one of the most frequently asked questions to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Moms Panelist Rachel’s favorite time is the end of January. She helps Julie from Texas who wanted to know when was the least busy time of year. Rachel loves the beautiful Florida winter weather at Walt Disney World Resort and knows it’s a great get-away from the cold northern temperatures especially in January.

Another Julie, from Indiana, is planning her first trip and wants to know the best time of year to visit with their 4-year old daughter. Moms Panelist Kara offers several great suggestions such as September when the temperatures are starting to cool down and the special events, like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are beginning. It’s perfect for traveling with a young child.

Moms Panelist Korliss also suggests September as a great time of year to visit. She knows that visiting after Labor Day can be a perfect time for a Disney Parks vacation.

The great thing about our Panelists is they have vacationed at Disney Parks at all different times of the year and have first-hand experiences to answer all your questions. Head on over and ask them your Disney vacation questions.

  • My husband and I are thinking about taking our boys back the week of August 15, 2016. My thinking is that many more schools will already be back in session so the crowd level will be lower. What are your thoughts about going this time of year? We have visited both early and late September and have had low crowd levels both times. I cannot pull my boys out of school so am wondering what time would be best. Thanks!

  • I’m a new father and life long Disney fan, so I find the Moms Panel service to be quite useful; however I do have to wonder why it isn’t called something more inclusive like “Parents Panel”…

  • Since I am a teacher and usually have to wait until school is out, our favorite time of the year is late May. The crowds are not as overwhelming as they are in June. The temperatures are perfect and the summer crowds have not yet descended in full. Most things are up and running including the water parks. We have visited over Fall Break and the crowds were a bit over the top in October. We took an early Christmas Holiday in the middle of December to experience the Holiday events and found that the crowds were only moderate at that time. If you have a chance to go to the Ticketed events like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas, the crowds and lines are lower than during the day.

  • Best time of year to me is February, mid to late. Nice weather and crowds are small. January can be a little iffy weather wise as we are noticing this year. September is still plenty hot. I am a passholder so I am there mostly all year long.
