This month, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney Springs, the first of Disney’s enchanted beauty salons, celebrates 10 years. This location has been a source of endless amounts of pixie dust and countless memories since it began welcoming guests on April 5, 2006. As the location nears its upcoming move to a new venue at Disney Springs Marketplace near Once Upon A Toy, I spoke with several Fairy Godmothers-in-Training who are celebrating a decades’ worth of memories.
Three cast members who were part of the opening team – Ines Lucas, Marjorie Jeune and Rose Curry – continue transforming young children into princesses and princes on a daily basis. Each cast member remains as delighted as ever by how they are able to create happiness for families from all around the world.
“Families come together to make this special and a memorable experience,” Ines said. “I cannot believe the years passed so fast. I’m so excited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Boutique.”
I recently watched Ines create some magic when my son was transformed into a Royal Knight (see this Disney Parks Blog article). He had a fantastic visit, and she made him feel extra special.
Ten years after the Disney Springs location opened, there are now Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques at Magic Kingdom Park, Disneyland park, Disney Cruise Line, Hong Kong Disneyland and the Harrods department store in London. Another is scheduled to open at Shanghai Disney Resort later this year.
Throughout their Disney journeys, Ines, Marjorie and Rose said they have frequently seen guests return years after their first Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience to visit them again.
“I love being a Fairy Godmother-in-Training because it holds a special place in my heart,” Rose said. “Being on the opening team and watching the growth and expansion and the princesses that have gone through is just something I will carry through my life forever.”
Reservations are recommended for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Walt Disney World Resort. Appointments can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-STYLE (407-939-7895). Stay tuned in the coming weeks for additional information about the new Disney Springs Marketplace location.
Congratulations on 10 magical years!
t takes a special cast member to make our guests so happy. I never get over seeing all the young princesses walking around the parks or on property, all dressed up a made up. My Mickey Ears go off to my fellow Cast Members who truly have the most magical job at WDW 🙂
I’m still waiting for a Bibbidi Bobbed Boutique for grown ups. We want to be princesses too!
My two daughters (now 18 and 15) had appointments that morning on opening day! I remember it like it was yesterday and the pictures remain some of my favorites. Thanks for the memory!
