On Earth Day, the Disneyland Resort surprised the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach, California with a $60,000 donation to support the rehabilitation of 20 rescued sea lions. The center was expecting a potential donor for a tour when our Million Dollar Dazzle Crew, including Disney Ambassador Allie Kawamoto, came in to make the surprise announcement!

The donation was part of our Million Dollar Dazzle philanthropic program that is awarding local nonprofits with $60,000 each month of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, amounting to more than $1 million. We’ve surprised 11 nonprofit organizations with $60,000 so far – where do you think the Million Dollar Dazzle Crew will go next?

  • I’ve supported the Pacific Marine Mammal Center for years, and even been to one of their sea lion releases. I’m glad to see Disney selected them. It’s been a particularly tough few years for sea lions in the area and they do great work.

  • Walt loved the Boy Scouts of America. He was a Boy Scout himself. He made a movie about the BSA (Follow Me Boys). How about honoring Walt’s legacy by supporting the BSA council down there in Anaheim? They will be able to use those funds to help build young people across the area into men who we are proud to hand the reigns of our businesses and governments over to one day.
