There’s a lot of fun in store for Star Wars fans this summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Starting this June, fans won’t want to miss the grand debut of a new Star Wars fireworks show, “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.” This new nightly show is the next generation of the current Star Wars-inspired fireworks show. It will combine fireworks, pyrotechnics, special effects and video projections that will turn the nearby Chinese Theater and other buildings into the twin suns of Tatooine, a field of battle droids, the trench of the Death Star, Starkiller Base and other Star Wars destinations. The show will be punctuated with a tower of fire and spotlight beams, creating massive lightsabers in the sky. This new show will be the most elaborate fireworks display to take place in the history of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

And don’t forget the live stage show “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” debuted April 4, celebrating iconic moments from the Star Wars saga with live vignettes featuring popular characters such as BB-8, Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and Darth Maul.

  • I will be traveling to Hollywood Studios in early June, and I was also hoping to learn when exactly the new “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” show will debut. Has anyone heard any news/updates? Will there be a dessert party associated with the new show as well, and when will those tickets be available for purchase? Thanks.

  • We can’t go back to JAKKU!

  • Another vague announcement from Disney. The quote “Starting this June” makes it hard for people to make plans for their trips. They encourage you to make dining reservations and fast pass choices a head of time, but when announcing new events can’t give you an accurate start date. Excited to see this show but my next trip is May 2nd, guess I’ll have to wait until later in the year. I am hoping that Symphony in the Sky is still happening. Any word on when that show will end its run?

  • SO EXCITING!!! We saw the original version of the Symphony in the Stars Fireworks show in January and also did the Star Wars Fireworks Dessert party, which was absolutely wonderful! Does this mean that the Dessert Party will continue as well? We’ll be back in early June, and would love to take our family to it!

  • Please tell us when the new Star Wars fireworks starts! Why are there no showtimes for June online?

  • How long will these be running. My brother and I are going to be at WDW 11/11 – 11/18, to celebrate his birthday. Both of us are big Star Wars fans and would love to be able to see these shows.

  • OMG!! Those people in those costumes in Florida in July!!!

  • Looks like I have the same question – visiting after a cruise and arriving at Yacht Club 6/13-6/17. Will the shows be going by then?

  • Such exciting stuff coming to Disney Hollywood Studios! It is elated to be a part of the DHS family and be able to watch all this unfold!

  • Why is this not happening here in CA as well? Seems like all the cool Star Wars related things happen in Florida and us here in CA get left out

  • Well I did a horrible job planning our trip this year. 🙁 I was hoping to go to Star Wars weekend and the 24 hour night at magic kingdom. None of that is happening this year. On top of all that everything is coming out in June.

  • It would sure be nice to have more details, we almost always go in May and enjoyed Star Wars weekends. We will be there at the end of May this year and would be nice to know if we will get to see the Star Wars fire work show whether it be the current one or the new one.

  • We will be at WDW on 6/1-6/5. Planned our trip specifically to see Star Wars fireworks (either the old or the new one). Hoping we get to see at least one of the firework shows….or I will have very disappointed kids!

  • We arrive 6/4 and with a June start date does that mean that the new show will be running during our time frame, or is Disney not releasing an official date yet?
