The distinctively enchanting Kingdom Couture collection will debut at select merchandise locations this month. You may recall getting a first look at this new collection during a Disney Parks Blog Unboxed video I shared last December. I recently caught up with Cathy Dawson, a merchandiser with Disney Theme Park Merchandise, at the newly expanded World of Disney in Disney Springs Marketplace to learn more about this new luxurious collection.
Created especially for Disney Parks, the Kingdom Couture collection was designed using luxurious fabrics and intricate details. The result is elegant yet comfortable apparel and accessories that are fit for royalty.
I love how Cathy and the development team mixed Disney heritage with contemporary silhouettes to create some unique items. The Castle image found on both the silk kimono and 30-inch by 70-inch silk scarf is gorgeous!
The Kingdom Couture spring collection arrives in select merchandise locations in mid-April. Additional Kingdom Couture items will be introduced later this year. This means that select apparel and accessories from a particular season may only be available for a limited period of time at Disney Parks.
If you are visiting Walt Disney World Resort, look for this collection at World of Disney in Disney Springs Marketplace. At Disneyland Resort, you’ll find this collection at Vault 28 in Downtown Disney District; Fortuosity Shop in Disneyland park; and Elias & Co. in Disney California Adventure park.

Are they going to fit the extra curvaceous ladies to?
This looks nice – but what is the price range and what is the quality?
For example, the scarf – is made out of silk chiffon or georgette? What ply is it? Is it dyed with a plant-based dye or an artificial dye? it a hand-rolled or machine stitched hem?
I love Disney; but I don’t want to pay Hermes or Ferragamo … or even Kate Spade prices for something that isn’t of a comparable quality!
PLEASE tell me that these (all) are going to be available in the larger women’s plus sizes, i.e. 2x, 3x, 4x. We “Pooh” sized women are also Disney fans who want to be stylish and buy shirts while on vacation!
I’ve resorted to the few plus-sized shirts I’ve found (never online, btw), but they are made of fabric that’s so tissue-paper thin and so short, that I find myself having to wear them over another shirt that I already own — which can ruin the intended look of the Disney shirt, and adds an extra layer in the already-warm Florida temps. Occasionally I’ll buy a men’s t-shirt, but they never work for me, really. I like sleeveless, and I want the same styles I see for smaller women. I am far from the only large female Disney fan who feels this way — I have seen the same sentiments all over social media.
Yes, I can and do buy other merch, but just once (ok, not just once; how about EVERY TIME?), I’d like to be able to notice a really cute, stylish shirt in the parks or on the ships, walk over to the rack, and find it in my size, and have it be sleeveless, not sheer, and not short. There are ALWAYS men’s styles in larger sizes; what about us women?
The Kingdom Couture Collection really does shine; I’d LOVE to be able to wear a top from the collection.
