Recently, I had a chance to check out the “World of Color” Dessert Party with my friend and fellow Disney Parks Blog author, Erin Glover. We were thrilled to be able to experience this new offering!
We checked in for the dessert party at 9 p.m. across from The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure in Disney California Adventure park for our 9:45 showing of “World of Color – Celebrate!” Our reserved section, which was located to the left of Carthay Circle Restaurant Dining Package viewing area, offered a spectacular view of Paradise Pier.
Once we were seated, our server offered a selection of beverages including champagne, sparkling cider, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and soft drinks. Delicious desserts, beautifully plated on china, included a selection of cheeses including Brie, mild cheddar and Manchego, accompanied by a bread basket, seedless green grapes, a Chocolate Mocha Bundt Cake, Mickey Coconut Macaroon, a waffle bowl with berries and lime-yogurt mousse, mini French macaron and my personal favorite, a Dulce de Leche-filled shortbread cookie. As you can see, we had the opportunity enjoy plenty of delectable treats. Tip: if you don’t finish your desserts, feel free to ask for a to-go box!
After a long day in the parks, it was wonderful to be able to sit back, relax and enjoy a breathtaking view of “World of Color – Celebrate!” with great company. Best experience by far for viewing World Of Color!!!!!! Great seats!!!!! Great desserts and drinks!!!!!! Got cocktails and hottchoclate to stay warm. I just did the experience Monday night and it is the only way I will see World Of Color now. Our waiters Glenn and Betty were Ahhhmazing and took care of us. because it was my birthday they made it extra special!!!!! They told us it is a 3-month trial so that’s why no bookings for July!!!!! I am here to post the experience being unforgettable and worth every penny!!!!!!!!! Hopefully once they. Ring back the “old” WOC it will be even more worth it!!!!!!! I would love this once they bring back Fantasmic to Disneyland!!!!!!! Worth every penny and better than the dining experience!!!!!!! Any questions please feel free to ask!!!!!!
Are there any vegan items on the menu? I’d love to participate but I need to be sure there’s something my family can eat.
Been trying to book the dessert party for the past week or so for July 4th weekend, but very frustrated that I am unable to do so because Disney doesn’t have the schedule yet. Does anyone know what is up with this?
To Salvatore: There is no seating for WOC viewing with the exception of some very limited special seating for VIPs and handicapped persons. The Preferred Dining Package offers you the best viewing location down in the front/center but you stand the entire show. The advantage is that you don’t have to get in line way in advance to get a good view. But in order to get this, you have to buy a full course meal for everyone in your party. So there is a trade off. FastPass is standing room only as well and even with the pass you have to stand in line in advance of the show to get better viewing spots. I think offering the seating as part of the dessert party was a great idea.
My opinion, the dessert package is amazing! The “best” seats can be subjective as the seating is not the closest possible view of the show. The seating is the best (IMO) for taking it all in though. Not to mention you’re actually sitting…at a table…with food and drinks being brought out to you. If you have a child (or more), make sure they get the drink with a special treat.

I am bringing my husband to Disneyland to celebrate his 60th birthday…with Disneyland! We are SO excited to finally see World of Color!!! I’m excited to surprise my hubby with this new offering! ?

Does The World Of Color Dessert Party offer better seats than the Preferred Dining Packages and FastPass? I already booked the Dessert Party for June and I am expecting the BEST seating for the price (x4 people). DOH!
