Adding a Personal Touch and Magic to Every Adventure at Disneyland Resort

Recently I found myself very fortunate to rescue/adopt a sweet, sometimes tenacious, 1-year-old dog. Of course, I immediately started to try and think of names, and after seeking recommendations from family and friends, we landed on Bella, and on occasion, I shorten it to Belle. What can I say? Once a Disney fan … always a Disney fan. So it should be no surprise that when I heard the team in Adventureland Bazaar, one of our main shopping destinations in Adventureland at Disneyland park, was adding a special touch to the purchase of unique jungle themed plush, I couldn’t resist sharing their story.

“There’s no monkeying around when it comes to having our guests choose a special plush friend or animal to take home with them,” said Angie Medina. “Our cast members take it one step further, asking our guests to select a name for the new addition to their family, encouraging them to take a special oath to protect and care for their new jungle friend and even providing them with a special certificate.”

“I couldn’t help but give in and adopt one myself,” said Angie. “I chose a cuddly monkey and named him Bananas, of course.”

I assure you, getting the chance to do this is not just for kids, it’s also for kids-at-heart. As you can see, some of my friends went a little “wild” when I told them about this exciting opportunity. What did they name them? Starting from left to right: Dmitry, Jack, Lily, Snitch, Sophia and Trace.

Have you had the chance to take part in this special activity in Adventureland?

  • Adopting a cute plush will help one get over some emotions one is feeling after I lost my favorite crime fighting / detective books.

    • Hi Brian and Karen! Perhaps you can adopt two and name them after some of your favorite crime fighting duo.
