It’s a Bright Day at Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover

Today’s bright and sunny “morning” shot was snapped at the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. The attraction, which opened July 1, 1975, offers one of the best views of Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park. The attraction whisks guests on a 10-minute tour from Rockettower Plaza, above the Tomorrowland Speedway, and offers a sneak peak inside Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. And don’t miss out on the Peoplemover’s up-close view of a model of Progress City, a “community of tomorrow,” that eventually went on to inspire plans for Epcot.

  • Great picture! One of my favorite rides at Magic Kingdom. Always thought it would be cool to have something like this at Epcot to get around.

  • This ride is a great way to relax & enjoy some quiet time! Sure wish it were still open at Disneyland!!!!

  • agree – so relaxing after a long day at the parks and a wonderful view!! 😉

  • This ride is a great way to calm down from a busy day at the park. I like to watch everyone enjoying themselves from above. A great way to gather perspective on your day at the Magic Kingdom.

  • This is one of my families favorites at Disney World Magic Kingdom! Sometimes we will ride it more than once in one day! Definitely something you do not want to overlook or under estimate. Can’t wait to ride it again soon!

  • Bring the ride BACK!

  • We love this ride. It’s so calming during a day of long lines. We rarely have a wait for this ride. It’s a must-do. Listen close “Phone call for Mr Morrow. Mr Tom Morrow.”

  • This was a great ride!!! I don’t know why they don’t bring it back to Disneyland. The Rocket Ride was also a good ride and that one also stopped running.

  • This ride is always on my “must ride” list. It can be so relaxing and great for just chilling and watching all of the interesting people that come to the Magic Kingdom

  • It’s a must do for our family every day we are at Magic Kingdom. The bonus is the line is usually the shortest in the park. If your lucky, maybe you’ll see Space Mountain with the lights on. A pretty cool sight to see all the twists and turns you actually take on the ride.

  • I love this ride!! It was the very first Disney attraction I brought my brother on when I brought him on his first trip a couple years ago and we do it every time! It is especially magical if you can time it so that you see the fireworks going off over the castle as you ride by. I always say that I’m not really in Disney World until I’ve heard Mickey say “It’s out of this world!!”

  • Why is this not at Disneyland? I used to love this ride!

  • I love this “ride”. It’s a great way to catch some rest, a breeze, and an overview of Tomorrowland!

  • No matter how many times I visit the Magic Kingdom, and no matter which new attractions may have opened, the PeopleMover is a must-do. Whether I’m on a planned trip with my wife or an impromptu solo visit while in Orlando for business, this attraction is my ultimate de-stresser. I love riding at the end of a long day to just unwind and watch the park as the sun goes down.
