Our day spent cruising through the 30-mile-long fjord is an unforgettable experience aboard the Disney Wonder, and now we’re giving you the exclusive opportunity to set out on a catamaran for a unique perspective of this ice-carved wonderland.
On this Port Adventure, Tracy Arm Fjord and Glacier Explorer, your 3-hour journey on a catamaran allows for close-up views of the towering granite walls, plunging waterfalls, floating icebergs and calving glaciers. You’ll cruise the full length of the fjord – hugging the base of cliffs that rise 4,000 feet above the glacial blue waters – as a naturalist shares a wealth of information and helps spot the abundant wildlife such as seals, bald eagles, brown bears, mountain goats and whales.
Once you reach the majestic Sawyer glaciers at the end of the fjord, your captain is able to maneuver the vessel even closer. During an extended drift near the glacier’s face, you’ll hear and feel the rumblings of what is known as “white thunder,” as immense spires of ice break from the glacier and crash into the sea. This once-in-a-lifetime experience is simply incredible!
