This week, we’re taking a look at the Candlelight Processional at Epcot.
The Candlelight Processional is one of the most anticipated holiday offerings that many Walt Disney World Resort guests look forward to – and return for again and again – each year. The show takes place at the America Gardens Theatre at Epcot and features a celebrity narrator retelling the traditional Christmas story, as well as live music from a 50-piece orchestra and mass choir. Each year the list of celebrity narrators varies and is usually announced during summer, with more narrators added as the season gets close. The live music in the show is delightful, with the show featuring both recognizable Christmas carols and a handful of international holiday songs. The show is included in Epcot admission and takes place three times nightly, usually running from late November to late December (this year’s dates are November 25 – December 30, 2016).
Because the Candlelight Processional is so popular, many guests choose to book a dining package which includes a meal at a restaurant and priority seating at one performance of the show. Guests who want to attend the show only can do so by joining the standby line, however due to the popularity of the show, very early arrival is recommended.

I just read that the Candlelight Processional will be held December 3rd and 4th with two shows each night, is this correct? Also, will there be packages available for reserve seating? Very anxious to know, plan, and reserve!! Thank you!!
Is the Disneyland candlelight the first. Weekend in December and will they offer preferred seating?

I just read yesterday on Twitter that WDW is doing away with the standby line and is instead offering more dining packages. Is this true?

For those who haven’t seen Candlelight before and are considering it, take note that when Jen says it’s a retelling of “the traditional Christmas story,” she’s very much talking about Baby Jesus/Mary & Joseph/the manger/the wise men/etc.
It’s a beautiful show and the singers are great, but if you or someone in your party would be uncomfortable attending a Christmas Eve church service, then you might want to spend your evening elsewhere in Epcot.
I saw this performance 4 years ago and I still consider it one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced. It was so moving and uplifting. My mother had passed away that year and we were not really looking forward to the holidays. I’d always wanted to see WDW at Christmastime so we went in early December. Jodi Benson, voice of the Little Mermaid, was our narrator. I swear I cried through the whole thing! I considered that my Christmas celebration. We got the dining package so we wouldn’t have to be in the standby line and be guaranteed a seat. This is the #1 reason I need to go back to Disney at Christmas time.
