As the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration summer finale continues for a few more weeks, I wanted to look back at some of the most popular items from this dazzling event.

Favorite Merchandise from the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration

We first revealed artwork for this milestone anniversary celebration in January 2015.

The ‘Character’ collection focused on characters, attractions, and the rich history of the resort. With its sparkling blue and silver hues, the “Castle” collection featured Sleeping Beauty Castle, glistening with magical diamond dust. The stunning “Diamond” collection included black, gray and silver tones that were simple, classic and elegant. Finally, the “Decades” collection looked back at milestones from the previous six decades that made the Disneyland Resort what it is today.

In March 2015, we gave Disney Parks Blog readers a first look at some of the commemorative products created for the celebration.

More than 500 merchandise items were created for celebration, including apparel, accessories, headwear, home décor, souvenirs, toys, pins, D-Tech, collectibles and more.

Which products were most popular with our guests?

I spoke with the planning team who shared with me the top items from this celebration. Popular items included the sparkling headband, a special Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration ear hat, an open edition logo pin, an autograph book, and apparel for women and men. Guests also loved the new Made with Magic ear hat that interacted with select nighttime spectaculars at the Disneyland Resort.

Two of the top items included Disneyland Diamond Celebration charms by PANDORA Jewelry. These charms will be retired once the celebration concludes. I’m glad my fiancée picked these up when we visited for her milestone birthday. They were a nice way to remember our trip together.

Speaking of memories, I have so many from that trip last December. We had fun “scaling up the fun” at the unique Matterhorn photo opportunity in Fantasyland. I also loved seeing Sleeping Beauty Castle shimmering at night.

If you have a favorite merchandise item or memory from your visit, please share in the comments below.

Don’t forget, the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration will continue to dazzle guests through September 5, 2016.

  • I really loved the character collection, we purchased the photo frame and sweatshirt, then got the mug to cheer up a friend. But the decades collection was my favorite. I was able to get all the mugs, pins, and artwork. I can’t wait to frame them all. My only regret is that the opening day artwork featuring Walt was not available in the print or mug. It would have really completed the collection

  • I had so much fun at the park last year playing with the Made With Magic Disneyland 60th Paintbrush. It was my first experience with an MWM item. I had some color battles with other guests while waiting for parades to start, I used it to increase my visibility during this one especially foggy night in the park, and it looks beautiful on my Disney Parks shelf at home. Wonderful use of technology. Can’t wait to see what toys you guys come up with next!

  • My husband bought me a diamond anniversary tiara when we were there during the holidays. It was an expensive item and I’m pretty sure I’m the only person that actually opened one. But it makes me feel (and look) like a princess!

  • Mine is incredible. I got T-Shirt from Mom and James, my ear hat, limited edition pin from Disney Movie Rewards, my pin, and mug from Starbucks. My mom got jacket from Leo during his visit with his kids. Vivi got her Bow hat during her visit with her family. Amy got her t-shirt as well before mom and I came here. I have diamond tastic time with my Disney friends.

  • On our first trip to the Diamond Celebration, the family sitting on the curb in front of us grabbed me and my daughter by the hands right before Paint the Night started and said, “Come here, baby, so you have a better view.” A simple act of kindness made our year.

  • Our family visited Disneyland last July for our 23rd Anniversary. My husband purchased the 60th Anniversary Train and had it shipped home as a surprise. We bought several 60th Anniversary souvenirs it was a magical trip. The train is our favorite we will bring it out every Christmas.

  • Definitely lived the Disney Decades pin set, all of the photo opportunities at the parks, and my favorite, the Olszewski 60th Anniversary Sleeping Beauty Castle miniature that I managed to snag at “Off the Page” in California Adventure…

  • I’m partial to the 60th anniversary diamond and sapphire ring–I used it as an engagement ring and got engaged at Steakhouse 55 on 10/26/15 after we watched Paint the Night!

    • @Scott – What a wonderful memory! Congratulations to you both. I wish you many years filled with love, happiness, laughter, and magic 🙂

  • Such a fun year. While I love anything sparkly, the castle dark blue napkin was my fav. Plan to make pillow with 1 and frame the other for my sewing room.

  • Oops I meant Steve!!!!! I read your articles and her articles and get mixed up!!! Sorry Steve

    • @Elizabeth – No worries. Erin’s wonderful so I don’t mind being in her company 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed the celebration. 🙂

  • Oh Erin, this makes me feel a little sad. I have enjoyed this event so very much. I am happy they carried over to 2016. Thanks for the memories!

  • While we got locked out of Disneyland on the first day of the Diamond Celebration (we went to Ariel’s Grotto in DCA for my girlfriend’s birthday lunch… and when we tried going back into the park, we were told it was at capacity), we’re going back for the final day on September 5th. Highlights that we shared this past year included getting all the anniversary photo ops around the parks, meeting almost all the Diamond Celebration characters (haven’t gotten to Donald, Daisy, and Pluto… yet), and getting all the pennies and quarters!

    • @Steve – Thank you for sharing your memories. I love that you got photos from all of those photo opportunities. I also wish your girlfriend a belated happy birthday! I hope you both have a great time on September 5.

  • Favorite memories consist of spending 24 hours in Disneyland to start off the celebration, and now my hubby and I get to be there for a whirlwind one day trip for our anniversary in a week to close the celebration!!! I’m also loving the my now complete Decade pin set. It was a wonderful year Disneyland!!! Here’s to all the future memories!!!!

    • @Kelsey – Happy Anniversary! That sounds like a wonderful way to spend time together.

  • I bought the blue diamond D Pandora charm but I think I need more 60th mementos! Visiting on Wednesday, I’ll be sure to take a look around and get something special.

    • @Julie – I hope you have a wonderful visit!
