Summer is here, and the temperatures are heating up in Southern California! Looking for ways to beat the heat while visiting the Disneyland Resort? We’ve got you covered!

Get “Frozen – Beat the heat with the icy cold tale of Anna and Elsa at “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion,” now open at Disney California Adventure park. Step inside the newly refurbished Hyperion Theater and even enjoy a snack with the show!

Cool off with a Cool Snack – Check out Rachel’s recent post for some cool eats at the Disneyland Resort. Check out the video above for more of our favorites!

Go for an Undersea Adventure – Go below the surface of the big, blue world with Nemo and friends on Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage in Disneyland park and then dive down to where “life is the bubbles” on The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure park.

Soak Up the FunSplash Mountain or Grizzly River Run? Whichever is your favorite, both are great for cooling off on a warm day!

  • Watch Path of the Jedi in Tomorrow Land (Old Captain EO theater). Cool, dark and relaxing. Eating a Dole Whip while enjoying Tiki Room Show. And bathroom across from Mint Julep Bar is the most air conditioned building I found at park!

  • HAUNTED MANSION!!

I was there yesterday and felt a blast of refreshing cold air in Leota’s salon. Was that the air conditioning or the happy haunts? Doesn’t matter, I got cooled off ?

  • One mustn’t forget The Enchanted Tiki Room. Kick back with Fritz and the rest of the tropical chorus while enjoying a Dole whip, air conditioning, and a rest for weary legs. You may get lucky and have Tiki Maynard guide you on your journey!

  • These should have been posted earlier in the year & every month (May – Sept) for all who summer travel (& forget)! We were there last week & it was miserably hot. We’re from Vegas so it want so bad for us, but it was for the visiting multitudes & our NY grandkids.
Other than what’s listed, I also recommend plenty of water water water! Bring in, fill up & drink -even when you don’t think you’re thirsty! I keep wipes handy which can cool you down, sunscreen & a hat. Cooling neck cloths (like runners & bikers use,) are sold in some of the shops, as are the mister fans which are awesome! Also go early – be there at rope drop & go back to hotel for a swim or a nap. Hit the park again at dinner & stay til close when the sun’s down. Made our trip bearable in the heat for the kids. Also it wasn’t very crowded for July – we actually thought the heatwave might’ve kept guests away 😉 making our lines shorter!

  • Those are great tips, Erin. I think Pirates of the Caribbean is great for that too. The line usually moves fast and, the next thing you know, you’re shoving off on a great adventure where it’s cooler than outside!

  • We like to ride “It’s a Small World” on hot days. It’s a long, cool ride!

  • Don’t forget Turtle Talk with Crush, a personal favorite especially with the new stars from Finding Dory.

  • Also in Disneyland, The Disney Gallery and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.

  • Turtle Talk with Crush and Princess Dot Puddle Park

  • Lobby of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
