I don’t know about you, but when I was little, “Walt Disney’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” was very, very, scary to me. Combine that with my affection for our Disneyland Resort horses and imagine my excitement that the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow has made his debut at Disneyland park as part of Mickey’s Halloween Party! Parking is not included in the ticket price and parking fees will apply. Mickey’s Halloween Party is a nonsmoking event. Smoking will be permitted in designated areas outside Disneyland park in the Main Entrance Plaza.
Mickey’s Halloween Party tickets are subject to availability and are valid only for specific event dates and hours. Space is limited and event dates may sell out. Limit eight (8) tickets per person, per event date. Tickets are nonrefundable and may not be resold. Tickets are not required for Guests ages 2 and under. Costumes subject to Disney guidelines and should not be obstructive or offensive. Parking is not included. Subject to restrictions and change without notice. Entertainment may be cancelled due to inclement weather or otherwise.

I never realised how much was involved with riding the horses for the ‘Headless Horseman’. I’ve always thought how brave and amazing the horses are to be among the noisy crowds. Really interesting as I will be going to the Halloween party and appreciate seeing the ‘Horseman’ even more. I hope he doesn’t go by too fast so I can get some photos.
Christine – at the party at MK, the Headless Horseman goes fairly fast. If you have a camera (like a Nikon DSLR 5000 or 7100 or a similar Canon) that you can set the ISO fairly high like (3200 or even 5000 or so) then you can set your shutter speed a little higher so the pic won’t be blurry. Also keep your F-stop low to let in light and don’t use your flash so you don’t spook the horse. I have been trying and perfecting for years. I finally got a decent pic last year. The only drawback is with that high of ISO is you can’t blow up the pic much more than a 5×7. Have fun at the party. I have never been to the DLR party, only MK many times. And I love it!!!!

I would love to know the breed of the horse(s) used at Disneyland! I was thrilled that he walked slowly down main street as opposed to in MK how the horse went pretty fast.
This is great! The Headless Horseman is the perfect beginning to the Boo-To-You Parade. Reminds me of growing up in New England.
