So tell us, what do you think makes Disney Castaway Cay the best of the best in your book?

  • They are so right we were on the Dream a couple of weeks ago and we always look forward to going to Castaway Cay. The water is so beautiful, sand so nice, and the Snorkeling so much fun! We all love it there and wish it were longer, can’t wait till our next visit. See ya real soon!

  • Judy. Just echoing other comments by saying Castaway Cay is the most accessible of all Caribbean stops.

  • Just returned less than a week ago and can’t wait to return in 5 months. The best stop on our western Caribbean cruise. We felt like we had stepped right into one of the WDW parks.

  • We took my Mother there a few times. It’s very simple in a wheelchair. First of all, so many people are extremely helpful. They have sand wheel chairs that are easy to push and even can go into the water for a stroll along the beach. The tram takes you to different parts of the island.

  • Judy, one place you may want to also check out are some of the many spots on FB that cater to Disney Cruislines. There you can connect with people on the same cruise as you. We’ve actually made lifelong friends by linking up before our cruise; now we’ve cruised with them 3 different times. One of our great friends is in a motorized chair too. He has cruised over 25 times with Disney so don’t worry about the lack of accessibility on Castaway Cay (pronounced Key).

  • Judy…..there are many paved trails on the island, as well as a limited amount of “sand wheelchairs” that can be used.

  • We’ll be there soon, and we could not agree more!

  • Can anyone help me? I am going on my first Disney Cruise on September 30. I am in a wheelchair, and my question is if there will be a way for me to get around on Castaway Cay without getting stuck in the sand. Any help will be appreciated.
