Walt Disney World Resort theme parks closed due to Hurricane Matthew will reopen on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Disney Springs, our miniature golf courses, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks will resume normal operations as well on Saturday.

Fortunately, the Walt Disney World property was not damaged by the storm. However, current closures and cancelations at the Walt Disney World Resort, including Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, will remain in effect through Friday, October 7, 2016.

We will continue to post updates as needed here on the Disney Parks Blog and please continue to check the front page of Disneyworld.com/hurricane.

  • I think it would be a nice thing if Disney could broadcast the last run of the Main Street Electrical Parade from Walt Disney World tonight @ 11:00 pm how magical that would be for those who need a little magic after this week of Mathew. Wish I was there for the last run.

  • Hoping everyone is safe with the storm Matthew that hit yesterday. Please advise when the park is going to be up and running in full swing. Thank you!

  • Are we completely delusional to think that heading out there Sunday is ok? We have a flight right now set to land in Orlando Sunday around 4 (if we can get there). Have 6 and 4 yr old who are completely devastated about not possibly going.

  • That’s good to hear. Thanks for being cautious and keeping the public informed.

  • Yay! We just got here after 10 hours of driving! Do you know if the boardwalk will be open this evening?

  • I’m so thankful everyone and everything stayed safe during this scary time!
