From the art of Disney historical artist Mary Blair and Herb Ryman art of Epcot to current Disney artists Joe Kaminski and Costa Alavezos, you’ll not only be surrounded by incredible visions, you’ll watch the creative process live.

In the inaugural year of the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, a collaboration with Disney Theatrical will bring an exciting new showcase of favorite music and Broadway talent to the America Gardens Theatre stage.

Over the six weekends of the festival, park Guests will enjoy different pairings of phenomenal Broadway talent in concert, performing songs from some of Disney on Broadway’s award-winning shows, including ‪The Lion King, Newsies, and Aladdin, to name a few.

And then you’ll feast on creations that look almost too good to eat, but you won’t be able to resist our Food Studios. Your eyes and taste buds will battle over which sense is getting the better treat.

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts will run Fridays through Mondays, and unveil brand new art each week. That means, you’ll want to return each weekend for an original experience.

What type of art are you most looking forward to experiencing?

  • When will a schedule be posted?

    • Hi Ann, please keep checking the Disney Parks Blog for updates!

  • ❤️ Mary Blair! I can never get enough of her artwork. I was lucky enough to catch a special display of her art at the Walt Disney Family Museum a couple years ago.

  • Can’t wait to see a lineup of the schedule of events.

  • Why is this only on weekends? As a weekday seasonsal Passholder I am disappointed.

    • Hi Mary, no need to be disappointed – the Epcot International Festival of the Arts are Fridays-Mondays during the six weeks, so that’s two week days to enjoy each week!

  • Hi Victoria, We just planned a long January 2017 weekend to Walt Disney World and this event is a great surprise! Looking forward to hearing the Broadway Music and seeing art being made, plus sounds like more use of the food booths? If so, that is very exciting as we already miss the Food and Wine Festival and look forward to the Flower and Garden festival.

    • Hi Jennifer, yes! There will be a fantastic Food Studio element that explores culinary arts. Hope you have a delicious time during your visit!

  • Gee, look. Another festival at Epcot. Paraphrasing The Incredibles:
“Once every day is a special event, no day will be special.”

  • Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana please! Some R&H Cinderella would be great!

  • This sounds amazing! I’m taking a trip in both January and February but will still miss this 🙁 I’ll be there Jan 5-9 and then Feb 23-28. I would love to hear the Broadway concerts, I’m a huge theater fan!

  • Mary Farrell, I thought the same thing, because we have a Weekday Select Pass. Then I read further down and it said Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Still I would like to see it run all 7 days of the week. This would help to spread out the crowds. Because the locals turn out in droves on the weekends.

  • I love this idea! Each of the special events is different throughout the year, making it perfect for those of us who like to travel during the different seasons. I can’t wait to see this!

  • Everyone please read before you post your negative comment about how Disney is unfair…the feastival will run from “Friday to Monday”…that makes two weekdays.

  • I know I’d LOVE to see ABC’s Battlebots robots and Steam Punk Art included somehow, I think it would add a LOT of interest! Those robots certainly are works of art! 🙂

  • I’m so excited! I’ll be there the 29th to the 4. We are planning to spend Monday the 30th at Epcot. I hope I will get to see some of the entertainment. We have our dinner already scheduled. Also will like to know how the snack and quick service credits will work at food booths.

  • I remember seeing Festival of the Masters when we used to visit end of Oct early Nov. Loved the chalk/sidewalk artists at what was then Disney Marketplace area and the stone crabs we had one evening on the West Side. Then there was Art in August (never made it for that), now a new option held at Epcot. January is usually less busy, sounds fun. And I love the broadway artists idea!

  • This sounds great! I’m planning a trip arriving on the 23rd….I may have to come a few days early now! When will schedules be up for events. I LOVE Broadway, especially Disney on Broadway! I would be hard to miss an event like this! Any chance of it getting extended?

    • Hi Kelly, the dates are set for the Festival this year. Hope you have a magical visit!

  • This looks amazing! We are first time visitors to Epcot and our first trip there is January 13th!! Looks like we will have a very memorable visit!

  • Is this similar to the Festival of the Masters that use to be at Downtown Disney? If so, is Michaels Arts & Crafts a sponsor again? They made it so much fun for our whole family to interact and make great crafts each year!

    • Hi Anthony, we will have interactive experiences – keep checking the Disney Parks Blog for details.

  • Sooo looking forward to the schedule of events so my family and I can enjoy this wonderful time!

  • Will you be bringing back Festival of the Masters art show in Disney Springs November 2017?

  • Victoria, will each week be concentrating on a separate artistic endeavor – one week concentrating on theatrical, another on musical, another on visual (painting / sculpture), anther on culinary, etc., or is it still somewhat in the planning stages and thus still in flux? Considering there are almost as many facets to the query “what is art”as there are to Spaceship Earth, choosing what to focus on and how to curate it seems daunting indeed.

One other question, if I may. As with other festivals, will there be separate events for Passholders or D23 members?

    Thank you for your time.

    • Hi Donald, culinary, performing and visual arts will be part of every long weekend during the Festival. New elements will be introduced each week, so we hope you have a chance to come back and experience them. We’ll have more details soon on the Disney Parks Blog.

  • Any updates on this yet? It’s hard to plan a trip in just over a month with things up in the air.

  • When will the schedule be posted? I am wanting to plan which days I am going to which parks so I can book fastpasses. This is definitely something I will schedule my trip around. I may even need to skip Universal on this trip if you are bringing in headliners like Idena Menzel and Laura Osnes. Please post the schedule!

  • I’ve been checking the blog and facebook page, but no announcements yet on an actual schedule. I’ll be there in early February so have to make my FP and dining reservations now that the 60 day window has opened, but also want to attend some of these events and can’t safely plan without that info. : (

  • Hello,

Will there be any opportunity to meet Disney artists such as David Doss. I would love to have him sign some of his work.

    Thanks

  • Sounds amazing! Although very tough to make plans without additional information. Fastpasses, ADRs, and more must be planned in advance and we are now just a month away from this experience starting.

  • Will the Broadway concerts be all four nights each weekend?

  • Any news on the schedule yet? Need to make plans!! When will we know more?

  • It’s been a month since this was first announced. Time for an update….

  • You should bring back the plein-air painters from the discontinued Art in the Garden weekend from the Flower & Garden Festival. They would be a perfect fit for this new festival. I trust that “visual art” will be more than just animation art.

  • That first weekend is three weeks away – I know that because we will be there during that time.
Please post an update on scheduling!

  • This sounds FUN. Is there going to be any special give always for passholder? Just like the flower show last year? By the way loved the prints last year

  • I’ve seen the Interactive Workshop schedule on the Disney Parks Blog, but am not sure how to sign up to various classes. I called WDW-PLAY and they said they do the dining portion only. (Help!)
