Wildlife Wednesday: Children Share Their Wishes for Wildlife

Dr. Mark Penning

by , Vice President, Animals, Science and Environment, Disney Parks

This is the time of year when families and friends gather to give thanks and celebrate the true spirit of the holidays. Every child has a wish for the holiday season, and we wondered what a child’s wish would be for wildlife.

As you might have guessed, the kids had some great answers – some were heartfelt, and some were possible only in their dreams, but we loved them all!

Connecting kids and families with nature and animals is a core value of our company. We want to inspire kids around the world to become environmental stewards and care for nature, which may be our greatest contribution to the future of the planet.

Each week during the holiday season, we will share another video of a child’s “Wish for Wildlife” on the Disney Parks Blog. We will also show you some of the more than 100 pieces of art they created to illustrate their wishes – everything from an origami rhino to a clay sea turtle! We will post the children’s art on the Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment Facebook page – so be sure to check it often!
