We have some paws-worthy news – the runDisney Virtual Running Shorts Series returns this summer featuring our top dog Pluto!
Whether you’re a runDisney enthusiast or a beginner looking to hit the ground running, virtual races are a great way to not only introduce your friends and family to running but also a way to jumpstart your training for upcoming races at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris.
Our second year of Virtual Races will go on sale Tuesday, April 11, 2017. The series includes three 5Ks you can complete from whichever course you choose, whether that’s through your neighborhood, on the treadmill or at your local park. Participants will receive a uniquely designed finisher medal for each 5K completed plus a challenge medal for completing all three virtual 5Ks.
Our celebratory charity will be Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, who is celebrating 80 years of saving pets in Central Florida. when can we register for this year? I want to do all four
Do you have to sign up for all three at ONCE to receive the “challengers medal?” And how come it’s so much for all three, $142? It’s cheaper to buy them separately if it’s only $39 each.
Does anyone remember what the charity was for last years virtual run?
I’m very interested! I’m registered to do my first Disney run in November. This would be a great way to continue training.

Each virtual race costs $39 to enter. Cost for the entire series is $142

So excited that the proceeds benefit the Pet Alliance! Paws in the Park is my dog’s favorite day of the year and they do so much in the Orlando community beyond the shelter that they run. I think my Dodger will just have to go out for a few of these runs with me. 🙂

It would be so cool if there was a signup for our canine pals to run this with us! I would sign my fur baby up for that, especially since it benefits Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.
I hope if the same packages are offered as last year, the cup will be of nicer quality! Was so disappointed it wasn’t a Tervis like the other runDisney cups I’ve seen. It was an incredibly cheap cup for a high premium.
I’m looking forward to doing this. I’m training for my first Rundisney in January 2018, can’t think of a better way to train.

As someone who regularly volunteers at Pet Alliance and adopted a dog from them last year, I love this!! I hope each of the medals celebrates a different Disney Dog!
