This week we’re happy to share another look inside Pandora – The World of Avatar, which is currently under construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering just shared another video on the construction of this new land, which is set to open May 27, 2017. In this video, several members of the Pandora project team explain just how important research has been in bringing Pandora – The World of Avatar to life. Culture plays a huge part in the park’s other lands, like Asia and Africa. Therefore, researching a realistic culture that would exist on Pandora has been a priority.

In addition to culture, placemaking has also extended to designing what guests will hear when they enter the new land. What should guests hear in the natural environment of Pandora?

To learn more, check out the video below.

  • It would be really nice to know the accessibility of these rides! How the seating works..etc. I have a teen in a wheelchair who can either stand to transfer (like in soarin’) or slide into a seat. When will you be releasing this information? FYI it’s always nice for wheelchair people to get a visual of the seating/dimensions/etc. Try providing that to us in the future.

  • Trying to find out if there is going to be a soft opening for AP?

  • Up until now, I’ve just thought that Pandora sounded kind of neat, but after watching this, I finally GET why it’s a extremely logical and positive addition to Animal Kingdom. Can’t wait to see it in June!!!

    • It’s going to be amazing, Jennifer!
