Are you a Disney movie buff? If so, there’s never been a better time to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The live-action “Beauty and the Beast” released earlier this spring was a smash success, while discussion around Star Wars: The Last Jedi (December 2017) and even “Frozen 2” (November 2019) are already buzzing online!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios offers movie-themed entertainment experiences and attractions based on guest favorite films. Check out our suggestions for your summer visit below.
1. “The Music of Pixar Live!” – Set to debut May 26, this brand-new, limited-time concert event will showcase memorable music from Pixar Animation Studios films, complete with a live orchestra and appearances by beloved Disney•Pixar characters. The show will be presented three times nightly at Theater of the Stars at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Check the park’s Times Guide for more.
2. Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Fireworks – Excited for the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in December 2017? Celebrate the Star Wars saga in this state-of-the-art show that features fireworks, projection effects, dynamic lighting, lasers and pyrotechnics that light up the night with an unforgettable finale.
3. For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along – Did you catch this week’s news that “Frozen 2” will be released in theaters November 27, 2019? Celebrate the heart (and songs) of the original “Frozen” film by checking out the park’s For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along.
4. “Beauty and the Beast – Live On Stage” – Did you catch the live-action “Beauty and the Beast” in theaters this spring? 5. Classic Attractions – Of course, many must-do guest favorite attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have been inspired by beloved films, including Toy Story Mania!, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Star Tours – The Adventures Continue.

Jennifer, I cannot currently see Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular show times for Sept 17 and beyond, although Fantasmic times are already updated and showing in the official schedule. My little kids are huge fans of Star Wars and we are visiting HS in September this year, which makes me quite worried that Galactic Spectacular might not be shown then. Is it just a matter of show times not yet have been updated or is the show out of schedule from 1st Sept?? I sincerely hope the latter is not the case!!
Thanks in advance.
My family and I will be at the Studios the day the Pixar Live event premieres! As many others in a previous post have wondered, I’m curious as to whether FP+ will be available for this event. Planning each day is a wonderful task and I would like to know if I can count on FP+ for this. Thanks!!
@ William : The third track opened quite a while ago. Whether it has reduced wait time proportionally may be a topic for debate, but it does exist (I have not been assigned to that track yet, but it is said to be an identical experience to the other two). The third theater for Soarin’ also opened a while back when they re-opened as “Soarin’ Around the World”.
Yes, Midway Mania’s third track is open.
William, it’s been open a while and it definitely made a difference to the wait times. It’s must-do for us when we go – we managed 7 times in less than an hour a few years ago because a Space Shuttle launch had drawn much of the crowds to the East. Our arms were just about ready to drop off!
I am wondering if the Toy Story Mania! attraction has opened a third track yet. I remember reading a while back that a third track was to be built in order to accommodate more guests in a shorter time. I think it was announced around the same that Soarin’ was to build a third theatre.
Thanks for you response.
