In celebration of National Pet Day, registration is now open for the runDisney Virtual Running Shorts Series featuring our favorite “pet” Pluto! From beginners to advanced, we invite runners of every level to participate in one or more of these fun 5K summer runs. Earn some serious doggy bling whether you choose to run around the neighborhood, on a treadmill or even through the dog park with your favorite four-legged friend. Plus, it’s a great way to train for your next runDisney race or experience the excitement…all from your own backyard!
Wanna know more? Here are the details on how you can earn these adorable Pluto-inspired medals. There are three individual race windows, each with a different commemorative finisher medal spotlighting elements of Mickey’s No. 1 pup. Run all three of the 5K races within the completion timeframe and you’ll also receive a Virtual Running Shorts Series Finisher Medal plus a Coolcore towel to beat the heat. PLUS, if you register for the Virtual Running Shorts Series by April 30, 2017 you can also receive a commemorative dog tag for your favorite pet and a collapsible bowl!

Virtual Running Shorts 5K – June
The first medal of the series centers around Pluto’s dog tag and collar with a playful yellow lanyard.
Virtual Running Shorts 5K – July
For July’s 5K race, the medal highlights Pluto’s dog bowl with every dog’s favorite chew toy featured throughout the lanyard and on the medal.
Virtual Running Shorts 5K – August
For the final virtual 5K of the summer, take home this medal inspired by this playful pup’s dog house.
Best of all, if you run all three 5K distances within the allotted timeframe, you can also earn this Virtual Running Shorts Series Finisher Medal, which combines all of the fun Pluto-themed elements from the individual medals.

How/where do you post your results?
My buddy Chewbacca is short, and I’m not a spring chicken but this will be our first and it will be great. We can’t run but we do like the walks in the morning.
I love the fact that my daughter and I can do these together! Pluto is one of her favorite Disney characters, so I knew she would be excited for this Virtual Run series. We’ll even take our pooch on one of the walks with us!
