This week’s Disney Doodle looks at what Lewis and Wilbur Robinson from “Meet the Robinsons” would do if they had the chance to visit a Disney Park.
In the 2007 film “Meet the Robinsons,” aspiring inventor Lewis meets a mysterious teen named Wilbur Robinson, whose time machine ends up taking them both on an adventure through a family history that changes both of their lives forever.
So, it’s only natural they’d want to check out our own time-traveling attraction – Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress. The attraction, which opened at Magic Kingdom Park in 1975, takes a look at family life in the 1900s, 1920s, 1940s and today.

Every visit since ’85 our family has enjoyed The Carousel of Progress. As a student I was also fortunate in visiting the Carousel at The New York Worlds Fair in both ’64 & ’65. It never loses its attraction.
Quintessential Disney… We love it!
Even after all of these years enjoying this attraction, we can still find new things. Here is a great find that we came across a couple trips ago. If you are sitting in the right place in the audience, during the second scene (Fab 40’s), watch the window above the kitchen sink. As you view the signs of the businesses on the street, note the name on the Attorney’s sign. HERB RYMAN Attorney at Law. What a cool find that was. Rode it three times in a row that trip to make sure and get the picture. Herb Ryman was a long time animator, incredible artist and close friend of Walt’s. Can you say Disney Nerd? Great Doodle series!
I love this idea!
We enjoy the Carousel of Progress. You sit on comfy chairs in air conditioning and let a fun historical story unfold before you…nothing wrong with that!
We love the animatronics, true Disney genius behind those characters.
It’s everything Walt loved about the world; family, progress and Americana!
It’s a MUST-RIDE when we take our family vacation to WDW every spring, then we immediately hop on the transit ride which we still adoringly call – THE WEDWAY PEOPLE MOVER!
Good time!! 🙂
I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy the Carousel of Progress at both Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom. It’s a family favorite. We hear there may be an update just around the corner.
The Carousel of Progress is one of my favorite attractions and a must do on every trip! I love that this doodle pairs with Wilbur and Lewis, so appropriate as they “keep moving forward” 😉
